The movers arrived very stoned to the point of not being able to talk or look you in the face. I worked with them by pointing at what I wanted where. No, this wasn't a language problem. One large bookcase blew over in the wind, breaking the back panel off. They did repair it with nails I supplied, taking this repair time from my move time. They did the move out of the POD into my house, but this was not a good situation.

I felt they worked hard, however... They did not follow instructions. In fact, they stared us in the eye and openly dismissed our repeated instructions. I found that they had packed items in ways that all but guaranteed things would break. For example, laying an edge of one item down unpadded on the brittle surface of another, effectively creating a chisel. Or placing one of the heaviest items on top of items I had repeatedly stressed were relatively fragile and unable to bear weight. Then they only used two straps at the end, sloppily thrown on. When we called saying we wanted it all repacked, we were told no and given a $25 discount, with which we had no chance of affording a remedy. Keep in mind, we had prepared very thoroughly, wrapping items in blankets, color coding them, staging them different areas, and providing plenty of extra material to use while loading. One of us stood by inside and outside providing instructions (that they ignored). Sure enough, when we unpacked the POD there was damage entirely due to the issues I noted. Amidst all this, I actually forgot that they didn't mask, despite us requesting that in advance due to one of us having immunodeficiencies. I would never ever recommend this service or use it again.

This is the second time I've used Lewis Moving Company to unload a POD storage container. I again found them timely, efficient, friendly and careful of my belongings. If I had an occasion to use them again, I would.
