I hired Move Assist two years ago to move me into my apartment, and then again last week to move me out. They packed the moving truck for a ten+ hour drive from Chicago to Atlanta and they did such a great job that I don't think a single item moved an inch. It did take much longer than expected to load the truck, but an extra hour or two of moving labor help is much better than replacing broken items on the back end. I would definitely recommend this company, especially after 2 successful moves with them.

The 2 young men were courteous and punctual. The problem was how long it took them to load the POD. Eight hours is abserd to move a one bedroom condo. They said this would be a 3 man job, but only 2 men showed up. Everything was ready and packed, they only had to wrap the case goods. The cost was much higher than estimated because it took them so long. I had an eight room house moved from Chicago to Evanston in same amount of time it took them to load this POD. And for less money!
I can not recommend this moving company.

The 2 man team was awesome!! They had everything they need to get the job done. Showed up to my place 10 min early as I asked to do the walk through with them. I would uses HireAHelper again for sure.

Arrived on time and ready to work. Temperature was close to 100 degrees but the two movers worked without stop. They were efficient & professional. Mark Levy also came to check the progress of the move. Great Job!!

You can tell that these guys have been around for a while. Moving in Chicago is a tough business. The long and narrow back staircases,, down the alley 100 feet to the gate where the truck awaits... not fun. Which is why I hired people to load the truck for me. Granted, Uhaul was 3 hours late in giving us our truck which turned out to be smaller than the truck we ordered. The guys were able to bring the stuff to the gate in order to load it once the truck arrived. It still took them a total of 5 hours from their arrival to departure to load the truck, but they did it and with a smaller canvas to work with. Their services were much appreciated to say the least.
As their employer, that's exactly the type of can and will do attitude I personally enjoy hearing about !

I had a very poor experience with Move Assist. Below are several points of complaint:
I was told that the movers would show up between 9-10am, however they came at around 10:15.
I was under the impression that they would bring the minimal supplies for the job, but they came unprepared. I had to go out and buy moving pads to cover my furniture. Furthermore, they were told that I had a piano that needed to be loaded, but did not come prepared with the specialized strap which was required to secure it to the container wall.
I had scheduled the loading of my belongings into a truck for only 2 hours based on the estimation given. However, it took 4+ hours to finish the loading. They just stood there talking the whole time. When I told them to hurry up, they threatened that they would just throw everything into the truck.
I have a grandfather clock with a pendulum that needed special care. It was misplaced somewhere in the truck, and I requested that they find it. They refused.
Having Moving Assist do my loading was a nightmare. I'd never recommend others use them again.

Movers were on time and went straight to work. Moved all furniture into my storage pod, arranged it in the storage pod in a way that allowed maximum space for my boxes. They did what I thought would need 3 hours, in about an hour and a half. Would use them again.
