Wouldn't recommend this outfit to anyone. Two workers arrived 15 minutes late after claiming they were lost. To their credit, they helped me unlodge a stuck POD door (I was happy to pay for the 30 minute delay in time). Got started ... and noticed that 1 worker seemed to reasonably handle my belongings. The other worker was a disaster. He stacked our items haphazardly ... and continually bumped into walls, doorways, etc. My spouse witnessed him dropping our furniture in the apartment without a care. Upon inspecting our goods, most pieces of furniture have some degree of damage. Not just minor scratches, huge dings!

As an example, we have an expensive art deco chair, that has a huge gauge in one of the rear legs. The leg was wrapped in bubble wrap and tape, so there's no reason for the lack of care. The amount of damage is unacceptable throughout our goods.

We had taken great care to wrap our goods, and they still found ways to damage it. They lost the bolts to my Spanish bed-frame rendering it useless.

Total lack of respect for another person's belongings.

I'd say the damages far outweigh the costs of using Handy Man. Will also report this disaster to the BBB and consider legal action.

These guys (2) did a great job. They didn't have a dolly or any other moving materials (I didn't request it as there was no where on this website to put in the request, and I forgot to bring it up during the phone conversation I had with the guy in charge). But, they did not let that slow them down. They unloaded our truck in 2 hours, and were very helpful and professional throughout. They had a lot of energy and were very focused on getting our move complete and putting our belongings where they needed to go. Would definitely hire again.

Mover's response:
Thanks Haley, it was a pleasure working with you to. Hope to hear from you soon.- Roman

Romen and his friends showed up on time. Romen was professional and courteous. I cannot say the same thing for his friends. I could clearly see them goofing off from time to time. However, I was pretty much satisfied with their work until I began to unload upon arrival. My desk was completely destroyed because they had put really heavy boxes on the desk. A corner of my night stand was chipped off (a huge chunk) because they put something heavy and sharp on or near the top of the night stand. It cannot be repaired because the demage is too extensive. Overall, they did not load my stuff properly and securely. I would recommend them for unloading but never on loading.

Mover's response:
Sorry, for your night stand Kim and any inconvenience, but you did get a truck that wasn't right for the amount of stuff(at least 10% or 15% more room than needed is correct size) or the height you needed and left us no choice but to over stack and waste space. You also didn't have furniture padding or straps or a least enough rope and covers. I did all the compromising I could. I apologize for the workers their not my usuals. Thanks for the work and I'm sorry it wasn't better but it will impro

Roman's helper had "personal problems" and was a no-show, so Roman and I rescheduled for Sunday, which was actually OK. He and his new helper on Sunday were courteous, but a little slow.

Mover's response:
Thanks for everything hope to hear from you again. The "slow"I don't understand we finished before time, when we had 2 hrs. we finish in less than 1 and a half. And for Saturday you did change the time on me and gave me no ETA so my worker couldn't hang out for free and wasn't has flexible.

Two very prompt and courteous movers came out on a Sunday afternoon to help us with a relatively simple move - moving two pieces of furniture from our neighbors townhouse to ours, two doors down. The work also included moving the furniture down and up two flights of stairs. Moving the items down the stairs from our neighbor's second floor to the street level went smoothly and flawlessly, which was impressive especially given how large and heavy the armoire was.

However, moving the the armoire UP the stairs in our unit proved to be much more difficult. Due to the weight and size of the armoire (the dresser was not a problem) the two movers could not manage to get the item up our stairs without imparting a number of
gouges, nicks, streaks, and a handprint to our white walls along the way!

The two movers did the best they could under the circumstances, though it was here that we realized they were not as experienced as we might have expected. They did not wrap or strap the armoire down before attempting to move it up, with its moving parts and cupboard like doors, which made things awkward at best. The moving job itself was fulfilled in the end and the armoire was unharmed. We were not upset in any way, especially after witnessing how difficult the move actually was, but we did feel it was important to mention the wall damage to HireAHelper, who promptly issued a more than generous credit to us for the wall and our trouble.

We did not want the movers to be repreimanded as they were earnest and sincere in their determinination to fix the wall (even offering to buy supplies at the hardware store and come back and patch it up for us!) that that we could not really assign full blame to them for what was such a difficult job to begin with. As I mentioned, they did seem a little inexperienced - I don't think this will happen again.

I would highly recommend HireAHelper and Handy Man - both for their very professional manner and handling of our situation
