The movers worked fast and efficient. They did the job in the contracted time because they were hard workers. They also showed up on time. I was very happy with their services.

These guys worked so fast and efficiently! They even had to problem solve getting our couch through a smaller area and were positive the whole time!

Hire-A-Helper arranged for two men/two man hours from Euphoria Moving Co., to help us move heavy items into a POD.

They called beforehand and gave us an ETA, which was fine - later than expected but within the range. We had already blanketed and plastic wrapped the items we needed moved into the POD. It was a simple job - we just needed muscle, not tacticians. We explained where we wanted two large and heavy bedroom dressers. They got the first one in and then we went to do other move related things. When my partner came out to the POD to see how things were going, he saw that there was a gouge in the blanket and the entire leg of the dresser was scraped up, all the finish was scraped off. It appeared they had dropped and dragged it - we don't know because we weren't watching like hawks. My partner asked what happened and they said they didn't know. Really? So, there were at our place a maximum of ten minutes and ruined a beautiful piece of furniture. We fired them on the spot when we saw that and they clearly had no idea of how to handle other people's possessions.

They complained that they needed to be paid. We pre-paid for their service and now find out from Hire-A-Helper that their policy is no refunds, but we can file a claim, which we did. The absolutely astounding thing is that the two guys expressed they needed to get paid even though they were here 5-10 minutes and moved two pieces of furniture and ruined one piece.

I would not recommend these movers. Most likely they hire warm bodies with no moving experience and no training.

Beware!

My moving team was prompt, courteous and fast... little too fast even. I felt they were rushing, just trying to get out of there as quickly as possible, and as a result not being quite as careful with my belongings as I would have liked. As far as I can tell nothing was damaged, but I was definitely worried it might be. I didn't have many things that i needed them to load and they were done in under half the time I paid for, so they definitely could have slowed down and taken a bit more care.

The Hire A Helper website is fantastic, has a lot of great information, and gave me a lot of confidence to hire someone through them. I watched the movers in the beginning and things started well. Things looked like they were being packed tightly and securely. Then after the pod was halfway loaded, things took a turn...

I provided a lawn tractor and cart to help them move things from where they were to the pod. They told me one of the tires was going flat so I went to start the air compressor but before I could put more air in the tire, the loaded the cart up and it was so heavy it smooshed the tire off the rim. So now I have to get that replaced. At a time when I still really need it.

Then when I went to look at the pod, it looked like someone had just thrown stuff in there. It looked like someone had started a large game of pick up sticks. I asked if that was secure and they said yes but it didn't seem that way to me and there was a lot of unused space. After they left I had a couple of friends look at it and we determined it wasn't secure at all.

So I ended up unpacking everything that was in there from the point where things were done well to the end of the pod, then repacking and securing it all. About three hours of work for a service that in theory I'd already paid for and was supposed to save me a lot of time. Very disappointing.
