The laborers in fact, did provide excellent service. They notified us of their arrival and worked consistently during the time I hired them. They were officially released from duty at agreed upon time and I sent confirmation that they have completed working the hours I hired them for. The service provider did not pay the laborers. The service provider had become annoyed that the laborers were paid directly to work for the movers crew to continue on. That had nothing to do with my contract with the service provider nor should had prevented them from paying the laborers for the labor they provided, that I prepaid for. Furthermore, I did not appreciate receiving a text from the service provider about not paying the laborers and firing them. I’m going to work with my financial institution to dispute the payment as the payment was not released to the laborers.

Do NOT use this company. After reserving an appt. almost a month in advance, they failed to show up for the time slot. After calling, we were informed that they would arrive at a new slot, and they didn't. As we were on a schedule due to having to return the truck, we were forced to cancel the appt. Then, a week later, we were charged $242 and had to fight to have it removed. Would NOT recommend.

They were supposed to arrive between 9 and 10..They finally showed up at 11:15. I paid for 3 hours of work and they were here 45 minutes.

We used this company to load and unload the largest U-Haul truck. They showed up on time and completed the job pretty fast. It was not until they returned a few days later to unload the truck when it was discovered that several pieces of our wood furniture was damaged (breakfast table, dining room table and master bed). Also, a flat screen TV was broken. We were initially told that there would be an insurance claim and to follow up within a few days. I did as instructed only to find out that they do not have insurance and there would not be a claim. They offered to replace the TV with an older version and to come and stain the damaged furniture. After trying to follow up with them for over a week to come out my husband asked them to replace the TV at least and he would work on getting the furniture repaired. It has been weeks and they do not return calls about when they are going to replace the TV. I would be careful if you choose to use this company. It seems as though they are more worried about being fast than worrying about damages. I would have paid the extra time. The amount of money that it is costing to replace and repair my furniture would have been worth the extra time for them to be a little less fast and a bit more careful.

The second crew who finally showed up to move me were great. However, the first crew never showed up and calls to the owner weren't responded to. I had to call Hire-a-Helper to get a response and they got a second crew sent. This cut it close for my rental truck return time and put me within less than 1 hour of costing me another day for truck rental. Added stress which was not needed.

Chris and Chris worked hard and kept moving the entire time they were on site helping us load. They were really courteous and polite and took extra care of our items as they were carrying loading them. The third guy (cannot remember his name) did not talk much and needed a lot of direction. He did not take care of items and was very careless. They did not bring rope that was requested and they did not pack the truck to my expectations so I had to assist to ensure all of our items would fit. I did keep them longer than what was planned and they were very accommodating to ensure that were done with loading our trucks. I would use them again if they left the third guy at home or back at the office.

The service was okay and unfortunately I would not use this company again. One gentleman, I believe his name was Brian, he was good even with a broken hand! He obviously had a solid work ethic. The other gentleman, KZ, dragged his feet and did not move with haste. I had to bend over and physically hand them items as opposed to them jumping in and having a sense of eagerness. Almost like pulling teeth which made me grit my teeth a little. In addition, not sure if moving large items is a strong suit, I was leery some furniture would not make it down the flight of stairs. They got the job done, albeit I paid for an extra hour perhaps due to some slow moving, but the job got done.

No, they were 3 hrs late for our scheduled move. The movers were not uniformed, nor did they have a card or printed invoice so it was impossible to tell if they were representing ANY company, Their attitude was one in which they stated they were doing "me", the customer, "a favor by driving 45 miles to accept my job so I should be grateful they bothered to show up at all." The lead mover lied to their agent "Hire a Helper" regarding their distance from my job, then lied again about my management of them. All Hire a Helper did was leave me hanging without workers, when they could have easily booked another company. NO, I WILL NEVER UTILIZE hire a helper AGAIN! BEWARE OF THEIR ASSURANCES!!!!

We charge an extra 20% for same day requests.
Next Day Moves
We accept next day requests at our normal rates.
Refunding Unused Time
We do not refund for any unused time.
Extra Hours
We can always stay at least 2 hours over the prebooked time.
