INSURANCE through Hireahelper covers goods while being handled by our helpers up to $.60 per pound (policy must be activated by completing an inventory form). Full coverage insurance also available through Hireahelper. We'll never leave you stranded! If late we'll send extra helpers to make up time at no cost when possible. These guys got a full list of what I needed them to move- there were no surprises. But they were not able to move my standard furniture and appliances- claimed it was to heavy.
Did not show up on time.
Did not have a manager to coordinate the lifting- 2 guys worked, 1 guy was loafing around.
I kept reaching out to Hire A Helper throughout this disastrous day, but they only made empty promises and did not help me. Definitely don't use PROMOVE, but better yet, don't book through Hire A Helper at all.
Moving from one building to the next on the same block no truck up & down 8 flights of stairs in the summer heat is brutal! 4 flights at the old house moving to 4 flights of stairs is a job for at least 5 men. The guy you said was loafing was the middle man on the stairs working. They were too burnt out to move all the heavy furniture after moving boxes & about 100 huge 10lb books. I almost pulled that crew from the job. I know you're paying for them to work but they are human & that workload was just too much. We even sent fresh guys towards the end to try to help.

Excellent experience with PROMOVE. Great communication right up to the move-in day. Movers showed up on time and worked so hard! It was a 4th floor walk up so it wasn’t an easy move, but both Oliver and David worked with a smile on their face regardless of how brutal I knew the move was.

Only one mover showed up and he was great. He showed up early and worked very hard to get everything done in 2 hours by himself. I would not have been able move without him.

Could have hired off task rabbit for half the price.
Several items were broken (including a glass coffee table that shattered in our lobby). Peloton bike and several custom furniture pieces were damaged. We provided moving blankets and explicit instruction for fragile items - our requests were disregarded. Boxes labeled fragile were put on the bottom of our truck load with heavier items on top. Fragile items were not handled with care.
Additionally- crew took phone calls during job and proper footwear was not worn. Waste of $900+ and now we have broken furniture to replace. While they apologized for broken items, they told us to file a claim with hire a helper. Turns out we only get money from hire a helper if the crew documents the damages as well. Hire a helper customer service is a joke. Forget it and just go with task rabbit. Would not recommend to anyone.
That disservice provided does not deserve even 2 stars. So so sorry.
Damage can regrettably occur during a move but it should never be because the crew is careless about protecting items with available blankets etc, nor should it be from improper packing methods. They did not follow our service guidelines at all.
The crew on your job was removed from our team when we got feedback yesterday.
That crew did 3 jobs over the weekend and were poor throughout.

I hired Promove to move my daughter out of her apartment into a moving van. The people who arrived were likely not professional movers. They brought no tools to disassemble furniture and needed to borrow her tool kit. They packed items in the van carelessly and haphazardly and did not bother to cover the furniture or use the moving blankets we provided, placing fabric on a dirty van floor. They left screws and bolts from the furniture behind (my daughter knew enough to gather them up and take them with her). Items in the van were loose, moving and unsuitable for transit. When I arrived the next day I needed to rearrange and tie down boxes and furniture. Some wood bed frame components were already cracked, obviously from being carelessly being tossed in the van. Lastly one of the movers was very aggressive and inappropriate, demanding a cash tip from my daughter even though she told him her dad would leave one via remote payment. She needed to give him some money in order for him to leave. Overall terrible service and I would avoid them.
That crew has been removed from our rotation. Had we known in time this crew would not have been allowed to work on any more jobs.
So sorry to hear about such a bad experience, that is definitely not how any crew we send out should conduct themselves and it's far far below our service standards. That 2 man crew has been dismissed!
