I needed movers with Insurance, they told me they would send it directly to the Management Company of my building, they sent me a copy the morning of the move just before the movers got to my door (even thought I expressed to them the need to have it the day before to get approval) . I forwarded the copy of the COI to the Management Company as a courtesy and proceeded to load the truck. I was busy with the move and only noticed the email after I was on the road. My security deposit was charged with insurance cost. When I contacted Abreu Movers the owner yelled at me saying it wasn't your fault and that nothing I would do would change anything. I would like to add that I tipped the movers $50.

I hired 2 movers for 2 hours. They arrived within the window requested, although they did not bring any equipment (I requested several items in my description of the job that were listed as free upon request). Luckily, between the truck company and my building, we had enough, but that could have been a HUGE problem. I'd suggest calling to get a verbal confirmation on equipment if you need it (I didn't confirm the equipment, I just expected they'd read the description). The guys worked hard for the full 2 hours and treated my things with care. I have another move scheduled for next week and chose not to use them.

Our experience with Arbreu was a 'moving nightmare.' We decided to hire help to alleviate some of the stress of moving and ensure that our items were packed securely and professionally. Unfortunately hiring Abreu just made the moving process harder.
During the moving process, Abreu damaged some priceless items including a handmade bookshelf. Due to their ill packing, Abreu movers also left valuable furniture on the curb including a table and antique caned chairs. Our hired helpers that we hired to unpack the loaded truck were appalled at the way Abreau loaded the moving truck and insisted that much more would have fit if the job was done right. Our flat-screen TV was also destroyed during the move, as Abreu loaded it upside down in-between the wall of the truck and some boxes (We even know better not to pack a TV like that, and we're not the professionals).
After the stressful move and damage and loss of our belongings we contacted Abreu. The owner and operator Michael (also known as Miguel) was rude, disrepectful, and unprofessional in the handling of our situation. We were yelled at on the phone and threatened. It wasn't until we contacted HireAHelper directly that we were assisted with our claim.
If you are looking for moving labor help, and want professional movers who are honest and know what they're doing - do not hire Abreu. If you want your property damaged, to be overcharged for sub-par service, and to deal with an ignorant owner/operator - Abreu is a good choice.

I'd have given them 5 stars except for the fact that they arrived an hour and 20 minutes late. (As someone who has moved frequently I will say this is not that unusual, but it's still a negative.)
Otherwise, the guys were great! Working together, the four of us moved a ton of furniture, boxes, and assorted other items around a three-story house in under 2 hours! Very efficient, pleasant, and industrious. Would do business again and no hesitation recommending them if you need that kind of help.

The three movers I hired were hardworking and pleasant but were over an hour late. Weekend subway service changes in Brooklyn might have had a lot to do with their lateness. Their supervisor was available by phone intermittently when problems arose (starting with the lateness but also after the first hour we all took a 5 minute break and the guys took that to mean they could take 20 minutes off to go to a deli to get sandwiches). The supervisor was apologetic and offered credit on a future move but I don't think I would hire anyone from this company again or recommend them to a friend.
