David Reyes was the most rude and condescending person I've ever worked with. David refused to listen to my needs repeatedly and packed furniture that I told him to prioritize last, because I knew loading my POD was going to be tight. The inevitable happened and there wasn't enough space for all of my belongings; and because of David's rigid timeline, he couldn't unpack and repack as I asked originally, because he already booked other appointments. David was willing to come back a 2nd day, but refused to allow me to book it through Hire a Helper, and demanded cash instead. I suspect he enjoyed not paying fees for the website and not being subjected to income tax. On the second day I approached and said "good morning" to them as they arrived, David later said that he felt that I was "undermining him" through the entire move and was getting in "his" way. He picked a FIGHT with me and started throwing insults, and then he quit on me and walked away. However, after realizing that he had already moved everything that required 2 people and that if he left he wouldn't get paid, he crawled back and pretended to help. However, even after the argument was over, he still continued to escalate and throw more personal attacks at me, telling me that "in all of 2024, I was by far his worst customer". Here are some of his issues:
1. I called several days after booking this appointment, I was only on his calendar for 2 hours. I'm not sure how this happened, but there isn't a house on the planet that can move in a 2 hour window. If I hadn't followed up with David, I would have been out of luck, because he wasn't proactive at all. He must have known a 2 hour window was not enough time.
2. Which leads me to why he let it slide. He knew I was in a bind and that since I was closing on my house on the 29th, I would pay him whatever he wanted, and he could now barter to provide his moving services on the downlow, avoiding website fees and taxes.
3. He punched a hole in my couch, shoving it around like an 800lb gorilla. Careless.
4. He bragged the entire time, self promoting about how many moves he's done, both before and after he punched a hole in my couch. When he came back the second day, he pushed his hand back through the same hole on my couch, forgetting that he had already broken my $2500 sofa the day prior.
5. Once it was evident that he was just a self promoting, angry ogre, I started offering suggestions and even offered to work as their 3rd man, since he told me he needed one, but never brought a 3rd man.
6. This man has anger management issues, severe ones. At one point I thought he was just going to punch me. I did not feel safe in his presence at all.
7. He literally quit the job and made me finish putting in my belongings into the POD, while critiquing me and saying, "If my movers would have put that there, I would have fired them". Again, anger management problems, he was literally trying to instigate a physical altercation.

Do not hire this guy, he's a liability to your timeline, your project and your physical well being. HireAHelper needs to remove his services from their platform.

Mover's response:
The order was 2 movers/2 hours to load a 16 foot container. I immediately informed the customer of our policy which states we do not offer additional time beyond the pre-book hours. Due to a busy schedule, I was unable to offer additional time so I offered two separate work orders on different days. That’s the only thing I could do so I accommodated him. He accepted the proposal and we moved forward..
The customer yelled at David and at times and invaded my space to the point where I would have to back up.
I have never quit on a customer in 14 years. At one point I did tell the customer I was considering refusing service. I told the customer he was being very difficult to work with and I walked to my truck grabbed a bottle water and came right back a process that took less than three minutes. I did not quit and I did not crawl back.
So with the last 20 minutes of the job, I told him I would be his helper and just tell me what he wanted, lifted and where he wanted it because he was not letting us make any more decisions at that point. I did not self promote. I told the customer that he is second-guessing and undermining a moving professional that has 6000 moves personally with my own two hands. He was washing his hands and dried them with a paper towel which he then threw at my face and said shut the F*** up! Immediately prior to this I was offering suggestions to move his heavy sofa which he was adamant about getting it done his way. Once i showed the customer that the sofa backs were removable he then called me a genius .. this is an example of the disrespect and erratic behavior.
The evening before I had to listen to a 20 min lecture on identity theft, risk assessment and hacking in regards to personal information for payment methods. The customer made cash the only option. I had to constantly explain my thought process and justify each decision. He would undermine and second-guess every step of the way. At first, I was asking the customer to please give us a little bit of room to work. At one point I had to ask him to please disengage that I understand he’s trying to help but he was actually interfering. He was literally following us every step of the way. We had to ask him to move aside because we are walking out of the container, he would not step aside so we can get out. He would interject himself into task that we were doing so he slowed us down.
I did not literally punch a hole into his sofa like he it makes it sound. The sofa was in the container and we tried to slide it just about 6 inches and the pressure applied by my hand and knee stress fractured the very thin wood that’s on the arm of the recliner. And unbelievably it happened twice even to my surprise. I was being so delicate with it having done it before. I showed him the damage from the inside of the fabric so he can see the structure and how weak the material was. There was no exterior damage and stress fractures did not compromise the structural integrity of the sofa. The customer does not mentioned that he was 100% aware that everything was not going to fit because he had designated mini mini items that were not going to go that he was going to donate to his neighbor. So from the very beginning, he knew everything wasn’t going to fit. what he did designate to go into the container would 100% fit. Therefore, I put a couple pieces that were optional into the container because I had 1000% confidence. I was going to get it all in the container. The customer would not let me disassemble anything . I did tell the customer that if he did not interrupt and interject himself constantly that I could’ve gotten everything designated to go in the container to fit. There was not a problem there I could’ve made it fit. I had confidence that everything was gonna fit that’s why I put two dressers and two nightstands that were optional in the container. before I even met this customer, I told him it would take two movers and four hours to load the container. And that’s exactly how long it took. This customer was no help at all. He said he wanted to the third person, but when he picked up literally one box, he said he had a bad back and can’t pick up anything and became useless for the rest of the time. Is blatantly lying . this man was literally impressed by us. He use words such as genius and Tetris masters. He turned on us once I told him he needed to disengage from us and not interject himself into every process. I brought it to his attention that he was second-guessing and undermining my step and I didn’t appreciate having to explain my thought process and justify myself through out the entire process. And that’s when this man turned on us, but before then he was my best friend. . My name is David Reyes. I have been owner and operator of Go2Movers for 14 years. 10 years I have been with hireahelper. I have a stellar 4.8 overall customer rating. Please feel free to scroll all the previous pages and check out my reviews.

David and his team did a fantastic job packing our U-Pack relocube for a cross-country move. Through clever and efficient packing and some good recommendations, they were able to fit our entire apartment into just one relocube (saving us over $1700!).

For an efficient job, friendly service, and top-quality packing, I highly recommend them!
