Chris did a great job mostly alone. He's very polite, soft spoken and strong. He did everything I asked of him and more.
The only thing I can think of that would help him in future moves is to add a 4 wheel dolly to his equipment.

The movers were better than anything I could have ever asked for or expected. They arrived on time and were fast with the move. They took meticulous care with the items and had a tremendous sense of responsibility to the customer. The movers were very professional, friendly, and accomodating to the customer's needs. This was my first time working with New River Transfer and Storage through Hire a Helper and before the move, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. The move happened this past weekend, and I can now assure anyone planning on moving that New River Transfer and Storage is clearly the best moving company in North Carolina. I am a biomedical researcher at a well known organization, and from my experience, feel very confident that you will be completely satisfied with New River Transfer and Storage! My rating of a 5 for these movers isn't high enough. They deserve a 10.

This was the worse move ever! My move was at the end of March and I hired 2 people to pack my items on one day and 2 people to move them the next. It was the owner and a helper. First they were late and the helper had an injury and didnt know how to pack items, and couldn't move anything.The second day they were supposed to arrive at 8am and didnt show up until after 12pm because of "so-called truck problems". Needless to say the move that should of took 4 1/2 hours ended up to be 3 days.By 9pm they still were not complete. I had to now wait to get my stuff until the next day because it was so late at night and then take another day off to receive my items. My stuff didnt not arrive until 5pm the next day when they had so-called truck problems again and didnt show up at 9am. This wouldn't have been a problem if they would of called me to explain why they weren't there at 9am. By 12pm I had to call Hire-a-helper to find out where my items were since the owner didn't call nor return my phone calls.When they finally arrived my wooden kitchen table was broken in half, my dresser damaged,and light broken.The owner stated he would replace the items and signed a document stating it. It is now the end of june and the items have not been replaced. Ive sent emails with pictures and have had hire-a-helper contact them, but still nothing. Im now moving in july to a new location with missing furniture items because the damages have not been taking care of.I am now taking it to small claims court.I urge you not to use this company and will be telling all individuals about them.
We are appealing this decision and once this is involved will reimburse your MOVE in full.
