They were supposed to arrive between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, didn't show until 12:15PM. I was told that I would receive a 5% discount per hour that they were late. That discount was not reflected in my final bill.
The movers did not take very good preventative care to put a barrier between some of my appliances/furniture and…read more the dolly. For example, they brought my washer and dryer down the stairs with the metal of the washer and dryer rubbing against their metal hand truck...as a result the washer and dryer got all scratched up. Several other pieces of furniture got scratched up in the same way. They should have wrapped the pieces with something or had their hand truck padded in some way.
They also dropped a piece of my entertainment center and broke off the end piece of wood.
To be fair, the owner said he would send me a check for the damaged piece of furniture from my entertainment ctr; still not worth the hassle though.

Thank for using Duck Solution Movers, Duck Solutions called stating they will be late due to back up traffic coming from Charlottesville, VA. You paid for two hours and you went over an hour and 45 minutes, in which that was your discount. There was no charge for shrink wrap which is $25. The item that was broke fell out of our control in which you was there watching and you signed off on it and that we are not held responsible for the damage. When ask if any other damages you stated no.

The movers were the best, they pack my TH in about 2 1/2 hrs. all three stories, and never missed a beat. They were friendly and professional.

Only one concern, I had all my boxes sealed and ready to go, except for one box. It wasn't surposed to go into the truck. They sealed it up and placed it in the truck. I didn't notice it until they left and the box was in the back of the POD. Just glad I'm getting delivery of the POD in my new place in about a week, or that would have been a problem. Other than that no complaints.

I was very dissapointed with the service that was provided. I was moving out of a single family house. I called the owner a few days before moving and asked to make sure he was sending three movers to my location. He also said he would be coming to my home and be the packer of the 3 person team. He stated his crew was great and would make our move easy.The three person crew arrived on time. i was met at the door by an unfriendly lady who asked if we were expecting movers. I explained to her that we needed our home moved into two pods in our driveway. It seemed that she was suprised we were moving out of our house. She also didnt look fit in any way to be moving anything. I thought she was maybe the coordinator for the company who just has paperwork to be singed. I told her that we hired a three person crew and that AB the owner said he was coming. She stated he had to go to another job and was too busy to come to our home. She said she was the third mover. They started packing my furniture and took 45 minutes just to decide how they wanted to pack the first pod. The lady took multiple brake and was at one point lying down in the vehicle. I called the owner and asked why is she here because I was really only provided a two person crew. The owner gave me excuses that he has another job and would be out to my location in 1 hour. He then proceeded to call the lady and yell at her. She in turn came into my home and asked why I called the owner and stated she needed her "medicine breaks". The two men were very friendly. One was experienced and the other one looked like he was an apprentice. The owner never showed up like he promised. My furniture was not packed nice at all, took 5.5 hours when I needed them for three. I ended up paying two friends to come help and they moved much faster then the crew from duck solutions. We showed them how to move fast and efficient. The owner should be ashamed of the lady he sent as a worker. Morally I followed through and paid but should of been given a refund. The fact that the owner was trying to find a way to get more money for the service he provided is just sad and made this company look shady. If you dont have valuables and dont care about who shows up, hire this company, if you have nice items and want a professional experience and dont want to be ripped off, use this company. Worst experience of my life! Thank you Duck solutions and AB for taking my money and providing horrible service!

The movers stated you was not fully packed resulting to them loading furniture and very few boxes. The movers was not there to pack but to load. You stated yourself that you called 4 other people to help you but you only had 2 to assist you; when the young lady preceded to the vehicle there was nothing else to load due to you still packing. You where charged for 3 hours verses 5 and you tip $15. You even laughed when saw a women working. Thank you for using Duck Solution Movers

They were prepared for the job, worked hard, were impressively organized, and were respectful of my property. The movers arrived nearly seven hours late. I made a reservation for 9:30 a.m. a month in advance and they arrived shortly after 4 p.m. -- just in time for a Christmas parade (no parking, pedestrians everywhere, streets blocked off.)
As a result, we turned our truck in five hours late and ended up moving about half our stuff …read moreon our own (rather than wait for them to arrive to start our move.)
They called about 8:30 a.m. to say they were short a worker and would try to make it by 10:30 a.m. Obviously, it was much later than that.
I discovered quite a significant "ding" in a writing desk that has a great deal of sentimental value, and this was heart-breaking.
The company did provide three workers instead of two at no additional charge. And they were very hard-working, fast and efficient, and nice, and they were apologetic for the wait.
But a move that was supposed to be over by early afternoon did not end until hours after dark. It was very, very stressful.
In hindsight, I would have asked around and gotten a word-of-mouth recommendation rather than utilize Hire-A-Helper.com.

They were very late - five hours to be exact - but they contacted me that morning and explained why they were running behind. In addition, they told me that they would be bringing two extra men to help since they were running behind. Once they got to the house, they quickly scanned and then were literally running up and down m…read morey stairs moving everything into the PODS. Not only did the load my house into the PODS (maximizing every inch of space in the units) but they also rearranged the items we had loaded into our UHAUL truck, which left us with half of a truck unused!!! They did all of this in TWO HOURS!!!! I was shocked. I had initially booked two men for three hours because I didn't think they could get it all done in two, but they did. They were all very nice and very professional. To my knowledge, I had no damage to my furniture and I know I did not have any damage to my railings or walls. I would DEFINITELY hire them again!!!!

They had straps, plastic, blankets, dollies, hand trucks, etc. Prepared to move everything with care and consideration.

They did not arrive until 11:15 am therefore making the move last till late at night they finished at 10:25pm,they knew how to load the truck ,worked fast but not honoring the promised arrival time caused stress what I do not need when moving...

Duck Solution movers were very accomadating to my schedule. All employees were very kind. I ordered 3 employees for 4 hrs, 2 showed up on time, the 3rd 2 hrs late. 2 worked very hard , the 3 rd sat in the car on his cell most of the time he was there. The time ran over by 1 hr because only the 2 were working. Finally, when we ar…read morerived at my destination, 4 out of 6 pieces of furniture were scratched. We had 4 dozen furniyure pads, about 2 were used, the rest were neatly folded at the end of the truck. I would not recommend Duck Solutions if you have furniture that you do not want damaged.

The workers were early for my unloading job. They were very courteous and conscientious. They took the time to place all items where we wanted and took care to not damage our hardwood floors. They showed all damage that was caused by the truck to which was appreciated. I would hire them again.

I was in a nightmare kind of state with my moving, when the helpers I hired didn't show up in time. So I gave it a try and looked online for help with not much hope that I would find someone who would be able or willing to take over from where I was left at. Besides that, I would say that 3/4 of my belongings weren't packed, I h…read moread to be out of my 2 bedroom place by the next day (did I mention that all this happened on a Sunday??) and I suddenly became aware that the company I rented the truck from gave me wrong advice about the size I need plus it was halfway loaded so I could see that my belongings never ever will fit. To me this entire thing seemed impossible.
WELL ... then I found Sam and his team.
Not only that they were professional and quick like I have seldom seen. They didn't stop working for a minute until the truck was loaded (it was in the upper 90's that day and i tried to talk them into drinking something but they refused until the truck was loaded). Also unloading the truck went in a heartbeat.
This team is unbelievable, not one of them stopped smiling, more they cheered me up right from the minute they arrived.
They are worth every penny and more, .... I could go on and on
No matter what, where ever I might have to move .... THIS is the TEAM I will hire.

This time we had Sam pack the truck - he did an excellent job and was finished in record time. When we heard that they would have also driven the truck and unpacked - hung artwork - etc at the other end we were bummed that we didn't know ahead of time for we surely would have paid for the extra.
