I wish I could give a great review for the two man team that came to load my truck. They did a lot of really hard work, that's for sure. But after the move I had a lot of damage. The "movers" were a cut above general laborers, but my one experience with Five Star Moving was not with "skilled movers." A lot of items were correctly protected and loaded and a lot of items clearly were not. So I ended up with broken glass and a lot of furniture scrapes and dings that would have been avoided by movers that actually were experienced.
I think Five Star Moving would be fine to load a truck if you are moving a lot of stuff that can't be damaged. If you are moving ordinary household goods that include wood furniture, furniture that has glass, etc., you'll need to be watching critically to make sure they protect it correctly. I noticed that they loaded differently if I was just standing there watching what they were doing. Multiple times, though, I had to tell them that metal objects or other furniture was in contact with polished surfaces. They would then get a pad and protect it and sometimes say "Yeah, I was going to do that."
If you are in a last-minute bind and need help in a hurry then they are better than nothing - you do need help loading your truck. But for what you are paying (anything through HireAHelper is pretty expensive) it's just better to plan ahead and get professional movers. A criticism: You may never see the supervisor - he drops off a couple of laborers and leaves. They are supervised only by you, so you must make sure that they take care of your stuff!

Workers were awesome but they were 3 hours late and only put in 3.5 hours of a 5 hour job. Was able to get most of the job done but still had a several boxes left that they could not get done before 9 pm.

Had a 16-ft POD loaded, and the team was great. It did take longer than expected (2 hours over), but I would recommend them to friends/family.

These guys handled both ends of a local move, and I was EXTREMELY impressed. Particularly with a few guys (Stephen, Daniel, Jeff -- though really, they all did great). Kept at it, had great attitudes, stayed longer without complaining and were experts at packing and re-assembling. Respectful, courteous, and self-starting. Highly recommended.

I got two guys for two hours to help me get the heavy stuff loaded in a move. They showed up on time and were professional the whole time. They were thorough and careful and worked hard and fast for the full two hours. The work they did was better and more careful than I would have been with my own stuff. I really can't say enough good things about the crew I was sent. I would absolutely recommend them over and over again.
