The movers were fine, though definitely not the best I have ever hired, as other reviewers have said. They showed up 45 minutes late, and that was after I called them to ask if they could come earlier and I was told that they thought I had cancelled my reservation! Had I not called, I am not sure they would have shown up! This is even after I confirmed the move with them the day before via e-mail. This was incredibly frustrating. They worked quickly and were careful not to bump walls or doors too much. However, they did not help to unwrap wrapped items, as I had expected, which caught me somewhat by surprise. Overall, they were efficient and respectful, which was appreciated. I think I should have been refunded some of the price because they were so late without any fault on my part, but I am not sure who to contact about that.

Richard and his son were great. I was a mover myself for a few years so I know good movers. They were fast, courteous, and hard working. I would absolutely recommend them and hire them if I find myself moving again.

We were very happy with the team of Richard & Son. We were using the SmartBox shipping service and needed to fill these boxes with our belongings. Since it was not a traditional moving situation, this team was perfect and loaded everything professionally and quickly. I would definitely recommend them and only wish they would be in Washington DC when we need to unload. Thanks again.

Second time I've used Richard and his son to help me move. They're not the most punctual, but they make up for it by being ridiculously efficient. They finished a 1BR move, empty 16-foot truck to empty 16-foot truck, in three hours flat. Very careful with all my belongings including a heavy plasma TV that I no longer had the box for and a whole mess of guitars. Would recommend these guys to anyone.

Well we were 1/2 late and they were so understanding. They were fast, VERY VERY efficient - we have a 26' truck 6 queen beds, 1 king, pool table you name it - it fit because of them. Great team, polite, very helpful - would in a second recommend them - the best 3 hours paid - it would have been 6 plus we would have to had rented a trailer - speaks volumes for having the experts fill your truck!!! Thanks guys!!! PS - they loved my homemade cookies!

Richard and his helper did an excellent and professional job loading furniture and packing it into a 10' x 10' storage space. They were very efficient and finished in less than the 2 hours I estimated it would take. The only negative: they did not show up on time and did not call me to let me know. I had to call him to find out he would be an hour late. Communication could have been better.

they were great! very speedy. took apart my roomates bed (which we didnt think need to be done and it was HUGE pain in the butt) and very professional. on time, nothing was damaged, helped set up my new place. these guys were recommend to me by a friend of mine who had used them a few months before i moved.

Very impressive work. The two of them unloaded my 20' trailor in three hours, hooked up the washer/dryer and refrigerator. I will use them again when I move in 10 months.

I hired 2 movers for 2 hours to load my 1 bedroom apartment into an ABF/UPack moving trailer. My trailer was delivered earlier than expected. I called Richard and he was happy to come earlier than scheduled as his partner was having car troubles. Richard was speedy! My boxes were out of the apartment and onto the truck in no time. He loaded almost everything himself in the two hour time frame. I was very impressed. His partner did arrive to help finish the last of the boxes. I suppose I could have haggled over the 1 mover versus 2 for payment. But, honestly, Richard earned every penny. If I were staying in the area, I would absolutely use Richard Witherspoon to help me move again.

Although the helpers were 45 minutes late, they were sooooooo fast and professional that they completed the job prior to the original agreement. I was so happy with the result and would use them again if I was in the area. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Very nice, very accomodating and very professional. Excellent.

These guys are phenomenal! Arrived on time and had our whole house loaded into a truck and a POD in 3 hours. I had estimated at least double that time. Expert loaders - they filled every cubic inch of the cargo space. Only a few minor scratches - maybe due to unloaders at other end.

This father and son were absolutley incredible! I could not believe how FAST they packed my truck! Both of then together were a 'well-oiled' machine. They worked so hard with smiles on their faces and handled my belongings with such care. I recommend them to anybody and everybody. This website should really be called, "Hire an Angel," in regards to Richard Witherspoon and son!

This mover cancelled on me only five days before the move, though I had scheduled the service a month in advance. I received an email from hireahelper.com notifying me of the cancellation, but had no communication from the mover. I left a voicemail with the mover to receive an explanation, but my call was never returned. There was no explanation of the cancellation, and I wasn't even offered a reschedule. I would not hire this mover again based on their lack of communication. I was left to scramble for another moving service at the last minute.

I would definitely recommend Richard Witherspoon & Son to others. They were fast, courteous, and (best of all) they knew what they were doing. They loaded the truck quickly, but carefully. I did not have a single damaged item after moving over 2,000 miles! These guys are great!!!

I would highly recommend hiring them and will likely hire them next time we move. They were so fast and got everything up a tight set of stairs to the second floor (including a washing machine) and nothing was damaged.
