They showed up during the correct time window. However, the workers were not efficient at all. They would take boxes halfway down to the truck but leave them on the second floor balcony instead of taking them to the truck. They would stand around talking instead of working. They did not work hard at all. I have moved with other companies that very quickly unloaded and loaded the same two bedroom apartment within two hours. This company’s workers were only able to load half of the apartment in the two hours and then tried to charge for extra time even though they didn’t use their working time correctly. When they left we still had to load furniture and boxes into the truck because they were unable to do it. The worker caught an attitude when told they weren’t working quickly enough. I would not recommend these SmartMoves movers to anybody. The customer service from HireAHelper who I hired the movers from was fantastic. They get back to you quickly with questions and we’re able to accommodate us with changes in schedules.
You are out of your mind! You had a 2 bedroom apartment coming down from the 3rd floor with a 2 man crew to a truck parked multiple spaces away. The walk was incredibly long. We worked more than efficient. I have been doing this for 12 years. You are delusional if you think that what we had moved could have been done any quicker or efficiently. One man moves boxes to the 2nd floor and the other man then brings boxes to the truck and packs so we don't have to run up 2 flights each time. We break up the stairs. The truck also needed to be strategically packed to fit everything you had in safely. The only time we were able to talk was to discuss what was needed to be brought down next. Whether it be random loose items or certain size boxes. You should've hired 3 movers for this job but we are fully capable of doing any job with 2 movers if time permits. You were angry because you couldn't afford additional time(as you stated) when we told you 30 minutes before the 2 hours you booked that it would take longer. We moved a 1 bedroom out in the building next to you the day before and that took 4.5 hours. They were happy because they understand moving and the challenges in those buildings. We moved them in a year earlier. No one moved that stuff up there in 2 hours. That is a flat out lie! We did not take a break and ran up and down the stairs for the entire 2 hours. In my entire history of moving , you may be the most unappreciative customer to leave a 1 star for a company that busted their butts to help you. We do not move for free and did a 5 star job for your budget...

High five to our crew. Our scheduled time was between 1:30-4:30 pm and at 11:00 am we were contacted to inquire if the crew could arrive early, which we were thrilled. We definitely challenged there expertise in packing a POD and they made it happen with ease. Great guys, courteous, respectful and careful with our belongings. Thanks again!

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Rent plenty of moving blankets. When you think you have enough, get another dozen. Moving blankets are in expensive to rent from Uhaul. Only $10 a dozen to protect your items.
