Movers showed up at a reasonable time. They were not at all what I expected. Prince was so meticulous at loading the truck. I didn't think all my stuff would fit in the truck but he did such a beautiful job that there was extra space at the back of the truck! He also tied everything just right that NOTHING moved through all the bumps in the road from Brooklyn to Pennsylvania. And he used all of the furniture pads to cover my furniture. These guys know what they're doing and they did a great job. I'm a very satisfied customer :-)

Movers were several hours late because some of the team called in sick. However, i cannot speak highly enough of them once they arrived. They apologized, went right to work and did a flawless job. Having moved 5+ times in the last few years, i have seen many movers, and these guys are top tier. Will definitely use them again.

I scheduled a move for Friday for my mother who is 63 years old and just wanted some boxes and a few pieces of furniture moved from a bedroom to a storage unit a few miles away. I was contacted by charles two days before the move and he informed me that he had a job in the morning which is the slot I requested, and asked if it would be okay to change the move to the afternoon. I was okay with the change considering he added an extra guy at no charge. I just needed them to be there by 5pm so they could make it to the storage area before the gates closed at 8:30. Well friday came and the movers arrived at 7pm. Way to late to move anything. We had to reschedule the move for Wednesday the next day my mother had off. But I had used my last PTO day and could not take anymore time off so I trusted the move to the movers and my elderly mother. Wednesday arrives and my mother was suppose to be the first job. The storage area opened at 9am and that is when I was told the movers would be there. At 9:15 Charles left me a voice message that said he did not have my mom's number and he had her scheduled for a move. I tried calling him back and only got voicemail. My mom and I then just waited, and waited, and waited. At 1:45 I still had not heard from Charles. So I sent a text message saying I was going to conact the Better Business Buearu, my bank, and the hirehelpers site and inform them of the bad service. Two minutes later I received a phone call from Charles stating the truck had broken down and they would be on their way soon. I understood a truck breaking down could not be helped and prayed they would show up at the house soon. My mother by this point is crying and upset. All she wanted was a cleared out room. At 4:50 the movers still hadn't arrived. I again sent a text message since all I was getting was voicemail and I let them know I was dissappointed in their service. At 5:15, they finally arrive at the house. They packed up the boxes and some furniture and get it to the storage area. The job was completed by 8:30. I'll let the moving company get into all the excuses as to why they showed up late the first day and why they showed up late again the second day. Charles, did try to rectify the situation as best he could. We did have a rather big conflict over the phone after the move but at the end of the day, ok the second day really they got the job done. I can't say I'm satisfied with the move or the company. They did mess up a lot throughout the course of the move. Mess up's that would have been avoided had they made the appointment on time when I scheduled it on Friday. The headaches my mom and I had to go through on Wednesday never should have occured. I will not be using this company again.

When I booked the service, the HireAHelper representative told me that someone from DA Moving would call within 24hours to confirm the appointment. I left several messages for DA Moving and even after calling HireAHelper back, I still did not hear from them. I finally reached them through persistence. When I finally spoke with the firm, their representative immediately went into a long sales pitch on using them for wrapping our furniture – telling me that it was a company “15 year anniversary special”. He asked me to e-mail him the wrapping details and he would call me back with a quote. I never received a quote phone call, but they did call me the night prior to our move, telling me that the company vehicle had broken down and asking if we could pick them up at the train station. What choice did I have at 6pm the evening PRIOR to our move, so I agreed to drive a half hour round trip to pick them up. The crew supervisor told me on the car ride to the house that they are a startup company (explaining the transportation situation)… so how is it that they have been in business 15 years (re: the “15 year anniversary special”)? The furniture pads that he sold us for $9.95 each are U-HAUL pads, which he explained that DA Moving was affiliated with UHAUL. I followed up on this with a call to UHAUL and they had no idea who DA Moving was and were particularly interested as to why this start-up company was selling their furniture pads. The three gentlemen that packed our PODS did an good job of wrapping, moving and fitting everything in and other than being a bit slow (self-serving as they are paid hourly) and scuffing up the living room floor – that task was accomplished fully. My day ended with stopping at the ATM (apparently the cash or money order policy was not explained to me previously) and dropping them off at the train station (another half hour of my time and gas). Would not recommend using this company, the cons far outweigh all their hard work in packing us up.

Extremely professional and proficient. They were able to get the job done with fewer movers than I had paid for- and they refunded me the extra money! I would absolutely hire DA Moving again and have already recommended the company to a friend.

Charles and Prince moved my one bedroom apartment from Manhattan to Queens. They were on time (early even!) and took good care in wrapping up my furniture and loading the truck. Unloading went smoothly as well. They were efficient and got the work done in 4 hours. Only complaint was that it was difficult to get a hold of anyone prior to the move to confirm the details (I didn't confirm the time for the move until 7pm the night before). It all worked out in the end though.

My husband and I were happy with the service from DA movers. We did get to a late start but once things got rolling they moved quickly and secured everything on the truck. They were professional and courteous. Thank you Charles, Prince, George and the other guys.

Overall I was very happy with DA Moving. I had 2 guys - Charles and George. They worked hard for 5 hours from 11pm without taking a lunch break. They were very courteous and helpful. The only downsides were that they arrived 10 minutes late. (Though was not a problem for me.) And that they were not great at calling beforehand and confirming exactly when they would arrive and with what vehicle/ packing materials. (It turns out that the supervisor himself calls and he finds it hard to make the calls while working on other jobs.) In my case I was expecting them to have packing materials, which they did not have. It turned out fine - as they were flexible and able to use what we good get together, and they were pretty good at packing. You might want a packer who would pack your stuff with more care - but I'm sure they could do so if one asked (I didn't, as quick was fine by me). Overall I'm very happy with the service, especially for the money.

Charles and Mikey did a great job with my move-in, from managing the (lack of) parking situation on my busy city street, to unloading all of my items with care and efficiency, to maneuvering my large couch up 5 flights of stairs in a jiffy. These guys were really courteous and professional, and inexpensive. I would hire them again any day.

It was a very good experience having the help provided by DA Moving. I exhibit as an art gallerist in three shows in US by year. I come from Argentina and find helpers to unpack art pieces, set up the booth and repack not sold pieces, was always a big problem. The helper was not only very professional, but also courteous, nice and kindly available all the time. I was so satisfied that I contracted DA Moving services again for next July when I will do my next show at Santa Fe .

I have no idea how these guys have received so many 5-star ratings. I chose them based on their previous reviews, but they did not live up to their reputation. First, the positives: 1. They did show up. 2. They were extremely nice! Now, the negatives: 1. Communication prior to my move was dismal... so much so that I wondered whether they would actually show up. 2. The first time we spoke, I was pitched for "additional services" and told that there was an additional charge for each flight of stairs at my destination (second floor walk-up). I was very clear about the walk-up on my request for services. Contrary to what the representative told me, there is NO mention of this additional charge on DA Moving's website. Ultimately, I was not charged the additional fee, but it was annoying nonetheless. 3. Prior to the move, I received a call asking if they could delay my start time from noon until 1:30pm due to another job that morning. I told them that was not possible since I had to reserve the freight elevator in my building for a specific time. I was assured that they would show up at the requested time of 12 noon. Instead, on moving day, they showed up promptly at 1:30pm anyway! 4. Even though I requested furniture pads -- which are offered on their website at no additional charge for local moves -- none were provided. 5. The movers scratched the floor in my new apartment. They told me about it and said they had already talked with the super and would repair it prior to leaving. However, after they left I realized they had not repaired the damage. 6. The supervisor asked me if I was aware there were some small scratches on some pieces of furniture. I told him, yes, I was aware that some pieces were not in perfect condition. However, as I unpacked things, I realized they had scratched brand new pieces of furniture that did not have previous scratches. DA Moving, Inc. was a great moving team that I would most definitely recommend to anyone. The guys that showed up moved the furniture quickly yet with care. We sat aside the smaller items to move ourselves but needed help with the larger items (yes, even an eliptical machine). We moved from the 1st floor to the 4th and they moved everything, small and large items up 4 flights of stairs. They were extremely professional, kind and courteous. I would hire them again!!

Sorry about late review-- I moved form one apartment, went to get things from a storage facility and then to my new place- It was all done within 2 hours! I was so impressed it was almost shocking :) They informed me when they were to be late and were both very friendly and efficient- It was refreshing! I realized after they left that I gave them the wrong tip (less than what I thought I was giivng them) but I have recommended them to everyone that I know, so they should be getting more business soon- Thank you for everything!

USE THES GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a team headed by Charles as assisted by Prince and Omar. The gentlemen were very professional and treated all items with the utmost care. They were able to move very large items down a twisty staircase without any damages. Charles' packing skills are unbeatable. They were promt, friendly and stayed untill the Job was completed. The guys from DA Moving Company showed up on time and were very proficient in packing up the truck as quickly as possible. I was really impressed with the quality of the moving help. They actually packed everything so quickly I had to have them get some of my items back out - which they did with big smiles on their face. They were awesome. I can't recommend them enough! Anyone looking for New York movers should definitely use DA Moving!

again until the morning that he said he was available, which left us no time to prepare to take time off work or anything. He couldn't give me an exact time he would be available so I asked him to call me when he was and I never heard from him again. The movers were nice guys, and for the most part, the handled our stuff carefully, but when we went to our storage unit a couple of days after the move, there were 2 large scratches on our mirror and very heavy bins stacked all the way up to the ceiling with no way for us to retrieve them. When I tried to explain to Charles that if his company is offering a service, like trucking, that they should make their drivers aware of the laws and they should prepare their routes ahead of time. Charles spent more time trying to explain to me that this was their first all service move and that he didn't know you couldn't take trucks on a parkway. I found his attitude about that just a bit juvenile. As a client, I should never know that I am your first job, even if I am, it should seem I am your 1000th job. I just felt it was unprofessional and unprepared for a company to offer a service and not be prepared to follow through correctly. He did help us on the final charge, being this move took- 9 HOURS! I felt that if he was offering to complete the job, he should have followed through. We could have made other arrangements rather than take another day off from work not to be contacted again. Again, they were nice guys, but I wouldnt recommend them.

I had about 25 boxes and an upright piano to move out of my car; since I needed to get to the office in the morning I had asked 1 person to be there at 8am. Well, he was there almost 30min early, which was great for me, and he got the piano onto the hand truck and into my house very gently and knowledgeably. The boxes were moved into the house in near no-time as well. The only problem, no such a big deal for me though, was that he forgot to bring a receipt and only had an electronic copy with himself. Overall a very pleasant experience, thanks!

The move was excellent and stress-free with DA Moving. The movers were running a little late (as one was sick), but called several times to notify us of their progress and make sure we were alright. Charles arrived alone (until the other Charles joined him later in the morning), but was efficient and extremely friendly. The move was quick and painless. DA Moving does not have a secretary or office workers of any kind, so you will be dealing directly with a mover and, eventually, with the supervisor for your move.

DA Moving was absolutely the best moving company I have ever had. Our helper showed up 20 minutes early, and while we had two hours reserved, he finished our whole move within 30 - 45 minutes. He worked very hard, was very respectful and courteous, and took good care of everything. My best compliment can be summed up by the fact that I will be calling them again when I move in January.

I have used DA Moving twice now. Each time the service is better. I needed boxes and furniture moved from our offices to our storage unit. Charles and crew follow instruction and work quickly. They even see things that need to be done and offer to do them.

Being new to the area, I didn't know what to expect, so I went with the company with the most positive reviews. I was not disappointed. DA Moving kept up great communication and confirmed the appointment time several different times. One of the movers was running late and they were courteous enough to notify me of their delay. When they arrived, Charles and Prince got right to work. They were friendly, courteous and listened to any request I had. The most surprising thing was how fast, efficient and strong these guys were. One person carried up a piece of furniture (a large dresser, a large couch, etc.) on their own, up 3 flights of stairs! They had the job done in 1 hour where I thought it would take 2 or more. When I tried to help, they wouldn't let me, saying I paid them to do this. I did volunteer to carry up my hanging clothes, and afterwards, Charles bought me an ice tea. When I move out, I know who I am calling.

My moving experience with DA Moving was fantastic. I just moved to the city and it was a great, stress free way to start things here. Charles and Prince were prompt, extremely helpful, and really good at what they do. They made sure we were completed with the job within our 2 hour time frame. Great job! Charles and Prince arrived earlier than promised and were obviously extremely knowledgable about all aspects of moving. They moved everything in much less time than I expected; I was amazed at how much both Charles and Prince could handle by themselves! Charles lifted a closet by himself that was a hard job for me and a friend. At the same time they were extremely friendly and sociable. Charles refused to let me help with anything; I almost felt bad standing there watching them efficiently move everything from my truck into the new apartment. Highly recommended; I will be requesting their services for loading and packing when I leave my current apartment!

I was moving out of NYC at the end of April and needed help getting my stuff to my truck downstairs. My guys were great! I had mostly boxes to move and a big purple couch. The boxes, nice and simple. The couch, not so much. Big couch combined with small spaces and tight corners results in an almost impossible situation. My guys were VERY patient and kept trying different ways to maneuver the couch to try to get it outside. After at least an hour, they finally got it to fit out the door! The move ended up taking more than 2 hours but they only charged me for the 2 we had originally agreed upon. They were very professional and courteous. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone moving in NYC.

This is the second time I used DA moving for my moving needs. Both times I was completely 100% satisfied. They were on time, in fact, 15 minutes early. Very quick, efficient, extremely careful with my belongings, and took extra care to make sure they were very carefully arranged in the moving truck so nothing would shift during my 5 hour move. And although I rented my own truck, i was even offered there services to drive and unload the truck if I didnt want to do it myself. I would highly suggest DA moving! They are great!!!

I once felt upset by other moving company two days before I asked Anthony to work for us. He is truly amazing guy, who work not only with his muscle, also with his passion and his brain. I asked him to unload stuff from PODS container to U-haul storage center. I was worried the rent space may not be enough to hold everything. He said " don't worry, I'll take care everything", then gave me a very clear-cut sketch. The final results were so amazing: he unloaded then packed everything the storage room; specifically, he classified all my boxes according to the shape, series number in a very clean order. As he said the work he did is a piece of art, I totally agreed with him. I also very appreciated his confidence, decent personality and professional working styles. I would have another moving in a near future; I'll hire DA moving, specifically Anthony. Of course, I am very happy to recommend DA moving to my friends and neighbors.

DA Moving pretty much made my day because my other moving company never showed up and DA was able to get there within a few hours to help me move - last minute, no questions asked. Anthony and his helper were so nice and got right to work from the minute they arrived - I wish I would have booked these guys from the start. These guys were great. They were on time, they were very personable, and they were very careful with my belongings. I had rented a uhaul and they unloaded it in NYC for me. THe cost was very cheap compared to any other companies i found. The owner of the company was even one of the guys helping and he disclosed that to me after they were finished. He likes to make sure the job gets done right. i will definetly use them again.
