Jon and Mark from Jon's Friendly Movers were on time, pleasant and worked diligently and quickly to load my belongings into the rental truck. But, I'm not satisfied with the quality of their packing .Even the packers unloading my truck in Florida commented unfavorably on the packing effort that was done.
The truck was unloaded into my garage 1100 miles away. My belongings are now waiting another move in a month or so I am unable to check everything. However, in the unloading process, I spotted several issues.
1)Although I provided 25 furniture pads to protect my furniture pieces, only a handful of them were used. One dining chair (new) arrived with a black stain on the cream colored fabric seat. I don't know if I'll be able to get the stain out without having to buy fabric and have the chair seat re-covered. Had the chair been covered, this would not have happened.
2)For my mattress, I provided a plastic cover to encase it. It was not used and the mattress was just placed "as is" in the truck. Now I will have to purchase a new mattress protector to encase it.
3) I also provided a plastic cover to encase and protect my sofa that had just been cleaned 2 days prior to the pack date. It was not used. So, the money i spent on the cleaning has been wasted as there is no telling what kind of dust, etc, it has been exposed to over the 18 hour trip.
4) I provided an extra large furniture pad (designed for appliances) to cover my 6' tall washer dryer unit that is only 8 months old. A small pad was used instead and when the appliance was pulled out of the truck, I could see that there is now a gouge on the side of the machine (it's small, but a hole nonetheless). I can't hook it up for another month, so I don't know if it will affect the operation in any way.
5) A box clearly marked "fragile" in multiple places on one box was placed at the top of a bunch of boxes, turned on its side and not protected on either side by boxes, etc. to keep it from moving. Luckily I spotted it before we left town and re-arranged it to give it the proper protection.
Bottom line, while this company may be adequate for a move across town, I would not recommend them for a long trip or if you have valuable items you really want to protect.

Considering how much “extra” truck space they told me I had, my items were crammed in the truck and I ultimately had property damage. Instead of standing up large pieces of art work, the laid them on top of items which led them to repeatedly hitting the back door. My bed frame is bent and a few boxes toppled over. Numerous boxes were dropped during loading and I’m still unpacking accessing the damage.
The guys were on time, ready to work and had great attitudes. I was just disappointed in the overall packing of items.

Not happy with performance of junior memeber (Julian(. Disorganized, no sense of priority of loading even after we told him specifically what needed to go in and how to safely pack it. Several items were damaged based on his handling of items and/or how they were loaded in truck. Senior man (John) was careless in getting the final things into truck to point that the rear door was jammed and items fell out of the truck when we were able to open door trying to unload. We will be sending pictures and estimate of repair or replacement cost for you to attend to with Jon’s.
With all the high ratingscJon’s apparently has received we are disappointed in how they handled our move . One last point. Job rant to four hours from original two hour estimate.
We can agree with the third hour but the fourth hour was almost entirely taken up with them trying figure how to complete the packing, which wound up with the truck cab filled with items that were unstable and completely obscured the drivers side views and access to many controls.
In summary, we would ask that you review our damaged goods repair or replacement cost estimate and also consider some adjustment for the fourth hour.
If zJon’s is one of your highest rated providers we will have to reconsider using Hire aHelper in the future as we are fearful of what the results would be next time.

They showed up promptly for our big move, and they did a last-minute move for us when we had a few extra items we needed help with. Most companies won't provide that type of service. Jon and his team provided fantastic service at very reasonable prices, and I would hire them again!

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
Jon's Friendly Movers provides the customer with clear communication on the date, time and location for the move. We walk you through each step of the move and will recommend an appropriate time expectation, size of truck and number of staff that is needed to facilitate the move. We answer all questions so that the customers feels comfortable.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
We will arrive on-time , if not early, and in uniform to begin the moving process. Jon's Friendly Movers communicates time expectations, asks for clarity, if needed, and handles the details so you do not have too.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Jon's Friendly Movers provides tips and information in order to help the moving day run smoothly. We think of the things you may not be aware of since friendly moving is what we offer. For example, we recommend the customer keeps a running list of what needs to be done, to obtain any packing supplies if needed, to have your phone charged (the charger may get packed), to leave out some basic cleaning supplies and to be prepared to do one last walk through to make sure nothing gets left behind.
