On time, friendly and hard working but: didn't bring plastic wrap to protect the furniture, the "large" truck was too small for all our household belongings so we will be spending the next week trying to move it ourselves and/or looking for an emergency moving service to complete the love (PITA!) and we are now discovering a number dented, cracked and broken items that will have to be replaced! The bottom line is anyone can rent a truck and get a couple of their friends to work as a crew but it doesn't qualify them to be professional movers. We would look elsewhere if we had to hire movers again. Caveat Emptor!

The crew was on time and worked very diligently to stay within the time limits. The apartment building I was moving out of decided to run a fire drill even though we were scheduled to move out. The two movers were exceptional under duress. I would highly recommend my two movers in the company

Great experience with Affordable Guys Moving! We had to reschedule due to a tropical storm but the guys were willing to come an hour earlier than planned to accommodate my schedule. Both men were friendly, courteous and highly professional. I highly recommend their services and will use their company in the future!

It started with a phone call @ 7am asking if the could start early. My husband was still at our old address, and I was in VA working. The person who called me I believe he was the owner of the business, became flustered with me, when he asked if he could start early I called him back after speaking with my husband, to tell him NO!
They loaded everything in 3 hours. My husband informed me they were argumentative with him, complaining that they had another job to do paying more money. They rush everything into the truck. Dragging my furniture, according to my husband, he said something to them and he was ignored. He drove the truck straight to our new home in VA. He got here late in the night. The next day on time, Duck movers showed up to unload my furniture. When the started to move things out of the truck. My credenza’s leg rolled towards the front of the truck and the door was hanging off the hinges. They looked at me as I hit the roof! Next, my beautiful 3k dining room table was scratched, a piece of wood chunk is missing on my table!
My 4k electric bed is rendered useless. I can not plug it in the wall, because the prongs to plugged it in, are both broke off. The mattress was dragged the material is frayed, and dirty!!
My nightstand is missing the hardware to open the drawings it’s been broken off on the bottom drawer. I’ve got so many of my wooden furniture scratched and damages. If they didn’t want my business, they should have turned it down and I would have gotten someone else.

My experience with Affordable Guys was great on moving day. They call the day before to confirm and you could request they call you on the morning of, when they are on their way.
The move was super fast! It was a combination of my meticulous packing skills and their moving skills as a team of two guys. Nothing was broken and they finished in record time.
However, my concerns lay with Hire a Helper and the lack of communication about the hourly charge and not being refunded any full hours not being used. In the future, I will just work directly with the moving company.
