Equipment Details:
We are a Professional Moving Company and have all of the moving equipment necessary to complete your move. We are running a promotion and currently offering equipment and blankets FREE with every full load and unload move. We can supply plastic wrap for your furniture for an additional $30 (all inclusive). Furthermore, we charge a flat rate of $100 for 2 Men to load and unload a piano, or $50 to just load or unload it (additional $25 per man to move a piano - the number of men required is based on the factors of the move...i.e. stairs or elevator).

They were 40 minutes late getting to the job. Only one of them spoke English and it was clear that was not his first language so communication was a little difficult. Several times boxes and plastic bins fell off the cart. A plastic bin was broken and the facing board on my recliner table fell off. Hi Robin! We apologize for our tardiness, every job is scheduled with a 1hr window in case we are running behind. Also, you pushed the appointment back a half hour the day before, which caused a minor blurb in our schedule, but we worked with you. The guys mentioned that they worked very hard to try to get it done in the 2hrs that you booked. We always recommend 3hrs for a full move so there is ample time to work. Finally, any time over the booked time can be paid in cash or credit. Thanks!

Eric and Wilson were wonderful! They were curteous
and polite, and always professional. They remained focused on their tasks and worked well with my mother and me as we assisted with the packing. Even when there was a problem with payment (I incorrectly entered the hourse worked), Eric remained calm and patient. I can't say enough good things about them. As for the Hire-a-Helper automated pay service (by phone), it was aggravating. I couldn't correct the payment by phone, but could not get anyone on the phone. Eric and Wilson waited a good half-hour and finally left even though they weren't supposed to leave before that got settled. It finally did get settled, but the process was extremely frustrating. Other than that, I would use them again. In fact, I am using them on the other side of my move. I hope I get help as good as Eric and Wilson again. Thanks guys! You made a stressful day go by quickly.

However, even though I repeatedly asked them to use the back, exterior staircase, they kept using the front stairs (against my condo association rules and bothering my neighbors). Also, I had 2 TVs that needed to be loaded into my POD, which they were aware of the entire time. …read moreAfter they completely stuffed the POD they said the TVs wouldn't fit and I should take them in my car. These are not big screen TVs, and they should have been able to fit if the movers had organized the POD better. I have a small car, a large dog and kennel in the backseat, and a trunk that was already full. The fact that they emptied the entire condo except for the TVs made me think they never intended to move them. When I told them there wasn't room in the car, they just shrugged. This was the cheapest moving company on HireAHelper. I think next time I'd spend a little bit more money and hope for better service, but if cost was all I cared about I'd use them again.

Hi Kristina, I apologize about the confusion with your job. The guys explained that they used the front stairs for large furniture because the front stairwell was larger and they did not want to damage the back stairwell or your furniture. Also, we always load tv's last so that they can be placed in a safe place. The guys explained that you had a lot of stuff and it just barely all fit in the Pod. The previous day, we had loaded up boxes and stuff we could carry, but when the guys got there, they rearranged everything for a tighter, better move. They said that they were very good at Tetris. They took a little longer than the two hours, but it would have taken us much longer, especially down three flights of apartment stairs. I'm Dad, moving my daughter, and it was the best money I ever spent. Much better than giving it to a chiropractor.
Everything went so smoothly, we actually got to leave a day earlier than expected.

During the move I thought things were perfect. Items and boxes were moving smoothly out to the truck. I was concerned that everything would not fit on the 22' truck, but they assured me I was wrong.
When we came down to the last 5 or 6 feet of the truck I was told that there probably wasn't enough room. The tough part abou…read moret this was that our choices were limited without unpacking the truck to remove items that were loaded early. Because of this we had to give a very nice 26' refrigerator, my bicycle, and some small furniture to the scrap dealer that was waiting to see what they could scavenge.
When we were unpacking the truck, it turned out that only a few of the furniture pads that I had rented at their request had been used, and that almost all of my wood furniture had abrasions and scratches because they were packed without the protection of the pads.

Of course, that was just a trick in the end, because it really wasn't, the movers showed up 1.5 hours late. For this reason, I will not use their services in the future. The least they could have done was to call me one hour prior to 8AM to tell me they were running late, but they didn't.

The crew was professional, hard working, and VERY fast. Hands-down *the* best money I spent on this entire move.
My experience with Hire-A-Helper started a little rough when my scheduled time from the website wasn't actually available, but Ken (the owner?) was really great to work with and find a time that worked.
On the …read moreday of the move, Randy (one of the movers) called when they were a few minutes away, and they arrived in time to start at 11:30 (their arrival window was between 11:00 - 12:00).
I showed them the scope of the project and identified everything that was to be moved, and then they were off. It was really amazing.
They wrapped any furniture I requested (I paid extra for the plastic wrap, which was well worth it) which kept everything clean and held moving blankets in place. They even took apart furniture that I was expecting to disassemble while they were moving other things.
I reserved the crew of 3 movers for 5 hours but it only took them 3 hours to finish the job, and they even refunded me the extra two hours I didn't use (they have a minimum of 3 hours, and anything over that is prorated). They could've taken their time and extended it out to the full 5 hours, but they busted their butts to get it done fast. I really appreciated this.
The only surprise was a $20 travel fee that I had to pay in cash at the end. I didn't see it in the bill or posted anywhere in the hiring process, but I suppose it could've been there. Fortunately I had extra cash on me in addition to the tip money, so not a huge deal. If Coffee Bros is reading this: you may want to make that fee a bit more clear up front so that we can be prepared.
All-in-all, it was a fantastic move, and I would hire these guys again. Thanks for your help!

I'm torn over what the rate the Coffeey Bros. Movers. First off, they showed up a bit late and were not very energetic. The two guys kind of waited around for my direction and did not appear to take the initiative at first, which made it awkward. Once the move was underway they were fine movers and worked quickly. Despite the fa…read morect that I had warned Kenneth, the manager, of a large piece of furniture I had and that they needed to bring a dolly. They didn't have the dolly and didn't know about needing it. Then the monstrous piece of furniture got banged up in the process (because they had to move it manually) and now I will have to make an insurance claim, which is awfully annoying. Luckily, they do have insurance which is a plus.

They showed up on time, but they rang all of my neighbors' doorbells at 7 AM and woke all of them up so that they could be buzzed in. Tenants called the landlord, who called me. So, my neighbors already hate me and don't know me yet.
One of them was very nice. The other was surly. They carried all the stuff up three flights, …read morewhich was what I paid for, so that was great, but they spoke almost no English. When it was time to call in to authorize payment for the move, my phone was out of juice. The surly guy let me use his, but I had to enter my phone number and he couldn't understand that I needed to know how to use the keypad on his phone. It was a clusterf*ck, because he kept pointing to the phone number I needed to call, and of course that wasn't the issue at all.
I didn't have my charger, but my phone held together for one final phone call, so I authorized payment that way, but it was very frustrating that they couldn't really communicate with me or me with them.
The movers were efficient when it came to moving stuff, but the surly guy didn't want to help me put my mirror on my dresser because they had another job to get to. The nice guy helped, which I very much appreciated. The nice guy also put my bed frame together, which was very nice of him.
It was just the lack of communication that frustrated me. Otherwise it was OK. I just wish my neighbors didn't hate me already.

We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear that the move went well! Unfortunately, when the men arrived, the customers cell phone was turned off, and she did not give us the correct unit number, so we had no choice but to ring multiple buzzers in an attempt to contact her. Also, I am certain that the neighbors don't hate the customer for the slight early morning disruption. Furthermore, the men speak and understand English very well, and were more than happy to assemble the furniture.

The movers showed up on time (maybe even a few minutes early!). They were efficient, respectful, and most importantly clean. We unloaded the truck in record time. They couldn't get the box spring up the stairs so they quickly found a way to get it through a 2nd story window!!

We choice Coffey Bros. Movers because of the excellent reviews, but we will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. We've used this site to book movers before and have had experienced with 5 moving companies in the last 3 years all with excellent experiences except for this team - they were nothing like what we expect…read moreed. They arrived almost 3 hours late, the owner of all people was on his cell phone most of them time, they didn't seem to know how to move furniture effectively and dropped a couple of items on the hardwood floors causing some minor damages and decided to leave earlier than the 2 hours that we had pre-booked them for. As a result, we ended up moving a good portion of the remaining items ourselves, as we were told that they would not move anything else without getting paid for more hours. We lived on the 1st story of a home and booked 2 hours for loading only. Most of the boxes were already on the lawn, they just had to move it 10 ft to the truck... no appliances, nothing heavier than a large bookcase which we advised them ahead of time. It should have been plenty of time, but they didn't work the full 2 hours and the time when they did work, it wasn't efficient... it was spent eating, talking on the cell phone and really not much else. As a basis of comparison, just a year ago, we had a moving company based out of the Chicago's suburbs who came out to help us move. With 3 hours they moved every last item out of our 3rd story Chicago apt, drove to our new place and unloaded every last item - they were on time, professional and got the job done in a reasonable time frame. With this company, 2 hours got just a little over half of our things loaded onto a truck... In addition, we are in the process of filing a police report as over $7k worth of jewelry was missing from that move. Please be watch your movers carefully and don't take anything for granted as we were preoccupied with our children outside and next thing we knew, cherished heirlooms just vanished. Thank you.

It's unfortunate Mr Earl had a bad experience with our service, we refunded him 50% of the job total in attempt to satisfy him. Occasionally we run late for moves scheduled later in the day if the morning job runs over. We never leave a job unfinished. We have a history of honesty and integrity and trust all our employees, however we'll cooperate with the Earl's and do whatever we can in attempt to help them find their lost goods.

My wife and I have used Coffey twice now, and both times they were fast, efficient and very courteous. We reviewed them positively last time, so I will only review for the second time. They showed up within the start time window. They called before 11, the beginning of the start time window, and told us their morning job was goi…read moreng to go a bit late. They were sure to update us again on time frame, which was greatly appreciated. We hired them to move our heavy stuff, which they wrapped to prevent breaking. They loaded up the truck we rented. They were able to fit everything in the truck with no pushing, shoving, and breaking to get it in there. After getting to our new apartment they moved everything up with no problems. It was a third story walk-up and they were even able to get our large sectional couch up a semi-narrow stairwell; no rips, or tears in it. Overall we would highly, highly, highly recommend Coffey Bros. When we move again we will use them for sure.

I hired two helpers to empty a container and bring the contents into my second floor condo. They were right on time and did the job quickly. As it was a very hot day I offered them a bottled water just in case they did not have anything. However I think my hospitality was taken advantage of as for the next two hours they conta…read moretly were asking for another bottle of water until the two of them went almost through my entire box. WHat made things worse is that instead of throwing the bottles in the recycling bin right next to where my container was they instead through them all over the garage for me to pick up later.
All in all though the service was fine, they did the job. However when the job was done the younger of the two helpers just stood and stared at me asking for his tip. I thought this was very rude of him as tipping should be at my discretion however I did give him some cash. I would use this comapny again however I will not be so hospitable. Get in, get your job done and leave.

Yes it was extremely hot and humid and the guys were challenged with that aspect, and had to constantly drink water in order to work quickly and efficiently. They explained that they had a couple bottles of water and placed them on the side in order to continue working, and simply forgot to pick them up when they left because they were so fatigued. Also, after every job we simply explain to the customer that payment must be released and any tip should be paid in cash. Thank you for your business

These guys were fantastic -- I will hire them again next time I move!
I hired Coffey Bros. a few days in advance to take all the stuff in my truck up the stairs to our new place. They responded with availability, etc, within an hour, and we set up a time.
On the day of the move, the two movers showed up about 10 minutes…read more late, but called well in advance to let me know (this was expected, as they had two moves earlier that day). When they arrived, they immediately got to work and cleared out my 19' truck in just under two hours. They didn't stop for breaks or anything (even though I offered, as our place is on the top floor). All of my furniture and belongings were treated gently; nothing was broken or even scratched.
These guys were very professional and worked very hard, even carrying heavy stuff up several flights of stairs stairs on a hot Sunday afternoon. Definitely worth the money. Amazing job, guys.

The movers were scheduled to arrive at 10:00 and did not arrive until around 11:00; however, the owner did call several times to keep me updated on their ETA from the job before mine. The two guys worked EXTREMELY hard and got a lot of stuff down three flights of winding stairs in the allotted time. However, they worked their butts off and did not stop to talk on cell phones, smoke, or anything else that would keep them from getting done on time. I would use them again!

The original movers on the call were unable to make it due to a vehicle issue, but two other guys were dispatched and I was kept informed of the delays to the start time.
