The guys showed up on time--even a bit early. They worked diligently for 4 hours and got 2 PODs loaded for us.

First let me start by saying, the guys they sent were all very polite and hard working guys. Aside from that, they did quite a bit of damage to my home. They put deep scratches in most of the hardwood flooring throughout the house, and a very big and noticeable gouge in the dark parkway flooring in the foyer. They gouged and put holes in atleast 1 wall in every room that they moved furniture out of. They wasted quite a bit of time wrapping furniture pieces with paper that should not have been wrapped. When I asked them, they either tried to blame my father on a couple occasions, or they said that it was "special" paper. That it had padding on the side touching the pieces.

I didn't really have time to stop and fight with them, the house was closing in 3 days and I needed everything out. When I tried to tell the lady at the office ( she kept calling and nagging for payment for the extra time and material ), all she kept saying was " ok sir, we'll fill out the form, but I need a credit card to charge the extra time".

Needless to say, nothing was repaired by them, no form was filled out, they sent no one even look at the damage that was done. All they cared about was getting paid.

If I had a choice to do it over, I would have hired a few day workers from the home depot. They would have taken more care then this outfit. BTW, their "services" cost around $2800 to $2900. They did roughly 9k worth of damage. That was the cost to get a contractor to stop what he was doing and send his people to my home

Do not use Good Life Movers; they are polite but unprofessional and will not do a good job packing your belongings. I opted to go with Good Life for full service packing of a PODS container because I have an ankle injury that prevented me from doing any heavy lifting or packing. At the end of the day I felt scammed and, out of the seven moves that my partner and I have done in the past ten years (including one cross country move), we found this crew to be the most unprofessional, slimey, and poorly performing packing service we’ve ever used.

Frank and his crew arrived at our 1BR apartment for a full service packing job to fill a PODS 16’ unit for shipping to California (their largest). His team was communicative and Frank was optimistic about the move, though the first thing he said was that his team wanted to complete the move quickly since it was Friday. I communicated my injury to Good Life multiple times throughout the booking and pre-move planning process so the team would be prepared for the work.

The move itself was disastrous. Despite a walk-through of our unit and a full packing list that estimated a 16’ POD would be sufficient for our needs by a dedicated surveying company my employer uses, we were left at the end of the day with several bookcases, an armoire, and a significant number of smaller valuables that “didn’t fit.” Upon inspection of the truck, the team did not fill the POD to the roof, leaving about a foot of space in most parts of the container, sometimes more, accounting for at least 120-200 cubic feet of space. They blamed this on several things—the size of our couch, the peloton, the “bulkiness” of our belongings—but at the end of the day they failed to do what we hired them to do and left a significant amount of space unused.

We had to cajole the team to put some additional high priority items into the POD and then, after they left an hour earlier than scheduled (Frank said they were only obliged to stay until the POD was full regardless of the time we booked them for), my partner and I were desperately scrambling to fit as much as we could into the container before the PODS truck left despite my injury.

I called my elderly parents to help us spend the entire next day cleaning up, discovering weird items they just forgot to pack (e.g. the team packed our entire kitchen except for the silverware), and packing my parent’s car with as much as we could or shipping some boxes — over ten thousand dollars worth of items that easily could have fit in the container if the team had properly utilized the space and nearly $1k of shipping and moving labor help fees — before rushing to JFK.

During the move itself, it was clear the team was angling for certain items to either buy or get for free if they didn’t fit into the container, including several hundred dollars of liquor, our carpets, and other small appliances. One of the movers, Carl, went so far as to offer us under-the-table services for the next day to help move the rest of our items three hours before the move was supposed to end.

In addition, rather than using the supplies I had ordered for the move—despite assurances by Good Life that they would use these supplies first and asking Frank and the team multiple times to use these supplies—Good Life wound up charging me $800 for packing materials. I was left with several hundred dollars of unused materials afterwards.

I am still in shock at how poorly the team misjudged the spatial layout of the container, the laziness of not using the full space, Frank’s insistence that they could not help us after the POD was filled, and his team’s utter lack of professionalism. I feel completely ripped off by this company and I cannot recommend you find a different service enough. I am praying that our furniture and belongings that were packed will at least make the journey safely.

These guys were fast, efficient, and professional! Got done way faster than expected and were so great. They were able to fit way more items in my storage unit than I expected! I will use them, and recommend them every time!

GoodLife did a great job with our move. They helped us unload from a 3 bedroom apartment packed in a shipping pod and delivered it to our new house. Between loading, unloading, and transit, everything was done in less than 3 hours. The movers were very efficient while still being careful with larger and more fragile items. They were all very nice guys. Would definitely recommend them.

Wayne, Josh, Rashawn and Manny were great! They were all very pleasant, greeted me on arrival and quickly began wrapping and loading the pods. All were very professional and worked well together especially when it came to getting a box spring up from a very tight place. I couldn’t have been more pleased. Thank you guys. Anne

They were awesome! Arrived on time and communicated along the way. They moved all of our belongings out and into the storage unit so quickly, and honestly I don't think they broke a sweat! They kept everything clean and organized. Would definitely use them again.

Could not be happier with the work performed by Goodlife Moving. They were very professional, communicated through out the whole process and did a great job maximizing the space of our container. Highly recommended

Horrible service, I will never recommend, or use, the moving company was horrible as well, just now getting my belonging from Monday September 27th today is October 1st.

Mover's response:
We're so sorry that your experience wasn't up to your expectations Catherin. However we also want to note that the reason you received your belongings outside of the preferred time window was due to you not being fully prepared on any of the 2 days that we serviced your move.
