Timothy & Larry with A Move Ahead Movers.went above and beyond today. I was skeptical about hiring movers I didn’t know. These guys were amazing. Were on time, prompt to start. Made a plan and worked nonstop. Took much care with items. Massive job involving steep stairs, heavy pieces. Not a single scratch, chip or damage. Even helped with suggestions when things didn’t fit as planned. Definitely recommend these gentlemen.

They were on time and worked hard, however, they were extremely slow. An expected 5-6 hour job took them over 11 hours. Although I understand that the home was a bit larger than expected for 2 movers, they were extremely inefficient.
****I am writing this part after I saw the reply they posted****When the movers came back the next day, they were there for 3 hours and said that it would take them only an hour an half, they didn't even finish loading those items which were not much at all and left us with a couch a chairs and a desk and lamps that we needed to load ourselves (single mom with 13 year old kid). They left important things that should have been loaded at the beginning like the couches and we ended up having to load these things in a second truck (which they didn't think was needed to begin with after I asked them multiple times). Additionally their customer service hasn't been great to say the least. When we contacted the manager, he kept saying not to load the TVs because they didn't have permission to put them in the truck without boxes, although we purchased over $230 worth of blankets and plastic wrap to make sure everything was protected).
They were slow, I have seen movers work in the past many many times and maybe the fact that I had a large house (4 bedrooms, less than 2800sqf not the 4k the loader mentioned in their reply) made them think maybe that time is not of the essence. There was a period where I didn't see them moving at all from 2pm to 4pm and I was very concerned, then sometimes I would go to the truck and they were in their car, or they would take their sweet time looking at how to make things fit in the truck, by taking things out and then reorganizing them which was tons of time and money wasted.
I spent a over $1100 on a 4 bedroom, my house is not even fully furnished, they made it sound like I had more furniture than usual.
I wasn't gonna write all these details, but after seeing how rude the reply was, I had to explain what really happened.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?
After booking with us you can expect a phone call from our offices just to reach out and get a feel for your unique situation. We will go over all needed supplies and firm up all the details.
What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Upon moving day you will receive a call from your movers within an hour of your booked arrival window. The movers will reach out just to make sure everything is still going according to plan and will give you their expected GPS arrival time. We know that nothing is more stressful than being nervous that the movers aren't gonna show up, so we like to put your mind at ease.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
If you will be hiring us to load your rental truck, trailer or portable shipping container it is imperative that you provide an adequate amount of moving blankets, plastic stretch wrap and rope to avoid serious damage to your items. The blankets can usually be rented with your truck or portable shipping container and are worth every penny. We can provide rope and plastic wrap for an additional fee or it can be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot in the moving supplies section.
What types of moves have you handled?
We have handled literally every type of move from local to long distance, from household to office/commercial. We have handled everything from medical equipment to flight simulators and we are equipped to move large items such as pianos and grand pianos.
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our favorite part about being movers is that we get to help someone with literally the hardest and most stressful task of their adult life.
What training do you provide your crew members?
All of our crew leaders are required to have a minimum of 4 years professional moving experience and upon hire, undergo at least 2 weeks of training with the owner of the company (a very particular veteran mover in the industry) before being set free to operate independently. All crew members undergo the same training and we typically only hire crew members who possess at least 2 years minimum professional moving experience. We don't send rookies, period.
