This was one of the most horrible experiences of my life! I left the encounter with the company afraid for my life and my business. The service connected me with Keith M. from SuperStar City To City to unload a box-filled Uhaul. On the day of Ricardo, Keith's partner/worker showed up at the same time I did. As he and I were waiting for Keith to arrive, Keith called me at 9:50am and said he would be there in a few. He was pulling up and needed to put his shoes on. The job was scheduled for 10am -12pm (2 hours) and Keith got there at 9:57am, looked at the stuff and started saying he wished he had known it was full of boxes because he would have brought another person. I explained to him that I told the representative exactly what was in the truck including the number of boxes.
As they were unloading I started to see the boxes that we had loaded at the back of the truck first which meant that they should have been almost done. They told me that they were not almost finished because they had to some boxes that needed to bee re-taped. At around 12:15 Keith says they were finished but needed to see a code for payment verification before they left. After trying to retrieve a payment code and failed attempts at log into the system, I called and waited on hold twice (the first time the system disconnected the call or there was some sort of error) I was able to speak with someone for assistance. I had the phone on speaker the entire time so that Keith and I could hear. The representative advised us that I wouldn't be able to complete the payment because Keith had not accepted the job through the system. Keith had to go downstairs to the car to get his phone in order to do as instructed. While waiting for him to return, I asked if I was being charged for the extra time and the representative said I didn't have to pay for any additional time. At this time it was 12:38pm. Keith came back with his phone, accepted the job and the payment was being released according to the rep. so we hung up. As soon as I hung up Keith asked me about paying him an additional $75 stating they had been there way over 3 hours. He was calculating totally wrong. First starting off at 9:00am, then including 10:00am as a counted hour. So in his final calculation 10am + 11am + 12pm = 3 hours. Instead of the true calculation of 10am through 12pm equaling 2 hours. I advised him I would have paid him for the additional 15 minutes but was told I didn't have to. Keith proceeded to follow me around the inside of the business while I locked all the doors and then followed me to the truck saying that I owed him for almost 2 extra hours. Every time we went over the calculation of time and he said he understood, he would walk away and then come right back with the same misunderstanding. Although I wasn't planning on leaving at the time, I wanted nothing more than to get away from the delusion and anger that was building up in him. I was alone and felt really threatened because he was following me around demanding more money.
I finally drove off and called the police first and then the company back to let them know what was happening and that I feared that Keith would try to harm me or cause damage to my business. I was told by the rep. that his coworker had increased my bill to include the extra hour that Keith was demanding. I was really upset, in shock and disbelief about how they were able to justify charging me more when I had spoken with someone regarding the situation and was told that there were no additional charges. It was 1:05pm when I was speaking with this second representative and he said he should be able to get the charges adjusted. It felt disgusting that after all I was enduring that the company would be so insensitive about my sense of danger and in addition, siding with the delusional story that Keith had created about the time. I am a new business owner and I have now developed a fear of calling in workers to assist with jobs that I need done. It is so unfortunate because I'm sure have but I will never use this company again.
