A1 was very professional. The team works so hard even in the heat and they were careful with our belongings.

Well they showed up on time, and it was very warm outside. They carried all the heavy furniture and boxes out of my house which I am thankful for. They started loading the first pod nicely, however it went south(bad) after about half the first (of 2 16 foot) pods were loaded. They haphazardly jumbled the stuff in the POD not taking the time to make the best use of space, and if we had left it like that many of our belongings would have been damaged in transit. We (my spouse and I) had to unload the pods after they left and re-stack everything so my belongings would not be damaged and to make the best use of space. They also did not secure any of the load with the loading straps I provided. Very poor loading job. They did work hard emptying the house especially considering how hot it was but the end results were less than satisfying. Also they kept telling us how they were only making 10 dollars an hour, fishing for a tip i guess, kinda tacky. All of our belongings did not fit in the PODs, and that is OK we do have a lot of stuff, we are getting another pod so I am not mad everything did not fit, but it was not a good loading job. If you use this company and you don't want to have to start over and re-do all their work I highly recommend you stay on-top of them and make sure they do it correctly the first time (I thought thats what I was paying for).

Would you use them again. YES. Larry and David did a fantastic job. Some items were not easy to move. But they got the job done without a single complaint. And it was 90 degrees and humid today!! I would recommend the company supplying these guys shoulder harnesses! It is much easier to maneuver large heavy furniture. And easier on the body.

We hired 2 men for 4 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment but due to their lack of interest in the work, we needed to pay for another hour. They started at 9:15 am, took a smoke break 45 minutes into the job and about an hour before the time was up they stated they had another job to go to and had to leave at 1 pm. One reason we chose A-1 was they could work extra hours if needed and were rated well. According to the movers they needed to leave before the 4 hours were up. I called Curtis (the owner of the company) and had to demand that they fulfill the 4 hours already paid for. According to the contract, I also asked for 1 additional hour, well within my rights. Curtis was very rude and offensive to talk with. He reluctantly agreed that the movers would stay for the full 4 hours and if needed, an extra hour longer. He was not happy. Prior to ending the phone call the last words I heard were,” Are you F****** serious” and then the phone call ended. This is totally unacceptable behavior from any business owner to a customer. Not only was the business owner unacceptable but the movers did not bring packing wrap as requested and I physically had to ask them to use the dolley when we needed to move items into an elevator to take the items up 4 flights. After dealing with torn boxes, damaged glassware (boxes were labeled FRAGILE) and a damaged dresser drawer, I would never do business with this person or with A-1 movers again. I would never recommend that anyone use this moving company in the future. The movers themselves were unmotivated, inefficient and had no sense of urgency. We chose to hire movers to eliminate some of the stress associated with moving and make things easier. What a joke A-1 turned out to be. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the overall service.

Curtis the contact person was easy to deal with and very professional in assuring us that they would be there on time and could easily do the job for us. The work team arrived on time and were definitely prepared to do the job. Larry and David, the two delightful fellows who loaded our POD for us, did an outstanding job being very careful with every box and piece of furniture they loaded. The packing was tight and well secured. They worked very hard and were very professional in their dealings with us. I waited until the POD arrived before writing this to make sure things stayed put. They sure did. Not an item had moved from where Larry and David put it. I would definitely recommend them based on our experience.

They were strong and capable and worked hard. They were respectful of my goods and respectful to me. They worked very hard in an older house (1700) with low ceilings, narrow hallways and tight turns. I would use them again but I would make a last check before they left: several items were left stacked next to the front door. They arrived about 10 minutes late.

we always call on the day of the move , my crew comes in full uniform ,with shrink wrap ,dollies , and tools , professional, caring , polite and willing to help in anyway , we start by padding and shrink wrapping all of your furniture and making sure floors and walls are protected , and the we strategically pack everything into your pod or truck with great care and precision , making sure in the process your are completely comfortable and satisfied with our work
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
all you needd to do is make sure everything is in boxes , leave the rest to us , we will take care of the rest . our job is to make your move as easy and stress free as possible
What types of moves have you handled?
we had handled all types of moves , big ,small , we also do commercial moves , we handle unloading of 53ft trucks at Renewal by Anderson window company every week and have for the past 5 years
What's your favorite part about being a mover?
meeting new people , being able to help people and making them happy , we enjoy the personal touch we inflict on our customers ,
What training do you provide your crew members?
all of my men are trained with me personally for there first 3 months , so i can teach them the way we do things here at A-1 Movers , we are not like the rest , we put our heart and soul into every customer we move ,
