Mike at Hire a Helper suggested Best Man Movers after Smith Moving called me the day before they were suppose to do my labor and informed me he couldn't make it back from his "Easter" holiday in time to do my job at the previously agreed upon reservation time of 10:30. I told him a later time would not work as we had to load the truck and drive for 2 hours to our destination. Mr. Smith offered to find me another labor company but I opted to call Mike at Hire a Helper direct rather rely on Mr. Smith for anything again.
Ricky and Anthony of Best Man showed up, went right to work, absolutely knew what they were doing. Ricky made every effort to protect all pieces of furniture and assured us the truck would be packed correctly and so tightly there would be no shifting. He protected appliances from any scratches against the walls of the truck with blankets, beach towels, comforters, pillows etc. we provided. He used the strapping we purchased at Home Depot when necessary. The job ran over by 2 hours by they worked right along through the lunch hour with no break and only water to keep them going.
When I saw them even DUSTING the top of some of my furniture before loading it..... I was really impressed! :-) So all you single ladies need to ask for these two great single guys to move you!! They can actually see dust which most men can't!!
Overall we were very pleased and would definitely use them again.
One thing we did not realize was if they ran over the reserved time, we had to pay in cash. Maybe Mike told me and I forgot but that was the only glitch which was solved easily.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Start as early as you can. The more time you have for preparing for your move, the better. ?In this case treat time as a friend and it will serve you. ?Distribute the weight evenly as much as possible between the boxes. If they are two heavy they could break when you carry them and it may not be very healthy for your back either. Another option is to use plastic boxes. They are stronger and you could rent them. That way no spending money for boxes and no searching for how to get rid of them afterwards.
