The people who showed up to help me move did a very good job. The "moving company" was the problem. After I made my reservation, nobody called to confirm it like the website said they would. So I called and confirmed myself. Then, the day of moving, nobody showed up at the scheduled time. So I called the number provided, which is a cell phone number, not the number for an actual business. It was turned off. I kept calling, and finally got someone to answer 1 1/2 hours later. He said the movers would be there in 30-45 min. TWO hours later, the helpers arrived. The two men were very polite, but said that they had just received a phone call right before they came, which was in response to a craigslist ad they had placed to hire themselves out for odd jobs. They were not bonded and insured movers, as the website said I was paying for. It turns out that the guy who calls himself "lonestar movers" really just took our money then hired some guys off craigslist and paid them $11/hr for a job we paid him $500 for. No insurance, no protection, no actual employees. I don't think lonestar movers is even a real company. I feel what happened here constitutes fraud and somebody needs to answer for it.

Hired a four-man crew to move from the third floor of an apartment to a two-story 3br house about 2-mi away. Crew showed up 45-min after scheduled but they called ahead to let us know they were on their way. When the arrived, they were able to quickly assess how to accomplish the job but they were not aware that I had scheduled a load & unload so they did not have all of their equipment.
Despite what sounds like perceived negatives, the four men were awesome, polite, hard working, highly efficient, and worked very well together to get my family moved out of the apartment into our home in about five hours. I highly recommend Lone Star Movers to anyone and when we move again (likely when we buy), then I will be calling them out once more.
