I hired Straight Arrow Movers for two hours to help move my heavy stuff from one apt to another in same apt complex. They were nice, responsive and finished the job as expected. I would recommend to others.

They moved my daughter's belongings from her second story apt in San Marcos to a storage unit in Austin on a 100+ degree Sunday. I would NEVER hire Straight Arrow Movers again. Their crew was friendly but they were VERY inexperienced and we had multiple damages. I notified the owner and he assured me he would come by and take a look at the damages and get them repaired. He just never showed up when he said he would. They damaged a brand new $800 desk that I specifically shrink-wrapped to ensure this didn't occur. Although not a large scratch, it is a very deep scratch and it is on the front middle area of the desk so it is very obvious. They put 2 tears in our leather couches and they left multiple scrapes on our bedroom furniture. They caused so much damage moving furniture down the stairs of the home I moved out of that I had to stop my last minute packing and repair holes and repaint the walls. The owner was very nice and assured me he would take care of everything. But he did NOTHING. It wasn't so much the damage that they caused that caused me so much heartburn...it was the fact that he just chose to ignore me after telling me he would come by and take a look at the damages. And he had the nerve to try to blame my daughter for the scratch on the desk, assuring me that there was NO WAY he or his crew could have done that. Unfortunately, their poor service has reflected poorly on Hire a Helper. I would never use this service again as I had anticipated that by using the service, the movers had at least been observed and researched prior to putting them on the website and promoting them. Guess I was wrong or I just got very unlucky. In any event, I ended up spending well over $1500 in fees with this moving company and had the worst moving experience of my life (and trust me -- I've had MANY).
