One of the other workers wasn't feeling well he kept having to sit down and was sweating heavily and I constantly gave him water. It is my belief that because the worker was sick and couldn't do the job; that is why my washer was left in the basement instead of where it needed to be. I was not happy at all with the service and besides all that; I still had to pay someone to get my washer moved. For this reason; I will not use this company again.

Once the PODS container was delivered for unloading we found many tubs & boxes that were crushed - not from shipping but from having much heavier stuff placed on top of them - there were boxes clearly markes "books" placed on boxes & tubs that were boldly marked "fragile". Some tubs were crushed & split open on the bottoms from being placed 1/2 on 1/2 off of furniture items and then multiple items stacked on top.

The movers were on time and worked hard to get the job done. They were very attentive and worked well with what I asked of them. This was a temporary housing move and I hope to use them again when I move in to my permanent housing.

I hired MD Expert Movers because of their stated experience with loading storage containers. I had a 1-bedroom apartment that needed to be packed into a 1-800-PACK-RAT container. Plus, they just barely fit everything into the container, even though I expressed several times to them my concern that not everything would fit and pointed out certain items that should be saved for last, just in case they didn't fit. Not only that, but they didn't start with the mattress, as all the moving/packing websites recommended. They saved the mattress for last, and it almost didn't fit. That would have been a huge problem. But taking six hours to load the container was completely unacceptable. I had reserved one of my building's elevators for a 4-hour window. Another tenant was moving out the same day and was completely inconvenienced by the fact that I still had the elevator locked down. Plus, the rest of the building's tenants were inconvenienced as well. MD Expert Movers clearly should have provided three helpers, rather than two. They obviously needed someone to stay with the container and strategize the packing, while the other two brought down items from the apartment. It was poorly executed. I later tried to call MD Expert Movers to complain, but the cell phone number (the only number I had for them) was disconnected. I waited another week and tried again and was finally able to reach someone. After explaining my dissatisfaction, I asked for a partial refund, which they agreed to after checking with the owner (which took another 24 hours). They said they would mail me a check. After two weeks went by and I didn't have the check, I had to take time out of my day to call them and follow up. I did eventually receive the check, another couple of days later. All in all, MD Expert Movers was a lot of hassle. I would not hire them again.

Once the crew was on-site, I noticed they were not wearing company uniforms and so appeared more like some guys I hired out of a Home Depot parking lot than a crew of professional movers. They didn't take as much care with some of our furniture as they should have...and I had to step in to disassemble some furniture as the crew didn't seem to know how or care to move these properly. Luckily we have only found a few items that were scratched or damaged during the move...but this is surprising given how they went about loading and unloading. Additionally there were many times during the five hour move that the crew argued with each other and the team lead about all sorts of moving issues, i.e. how to carry a piece of furniture, what item to take next, etc. All-in-all they were not terrible...they were friendly enough and certainly helped us with our move...but I wouldn't use this company again due to this experience. A final note is that when I spoke with the home office on two occasions, the woman (not sure her name) was extremely helpful and assisted in making a last minute change...so kudos there.

They are a well-oiled machine and each group of two has their specific job which they have perfected. They used care with everything loaded and there was no damage in the house. The weather was drizzly and I was worried about damage to the furniture. I had furniture pads but they brought some wrapping material and tape and assured me everything would be kept dry.....and it was. I plan to use them again in the future when I need the POD unloaded.
