I have mixed feelings about these guys that helped do the unload of my truck. To start with they were almost 1.5 hours late but it was later explained to me that they had to travel over 60 miles to get to me. That was easy to deal with. What upset me was the general lack of care given to stuff as they carried it. We were moving into a second floor apartment and the stairs are metal and concrete and my expensive wood furniture is dinged and scratched all over the place. Boxes that were marked fragile were stacked on their sides and sometimes under heavy boxes with books in them. The leaf sections of my dining room table were placed at the bottom of dollys with boxes stacked on top. The 4 kids that showed up (all of them in their 20's) had little to no moving experience that was evident by the constant arguing that they did amongst themselves on how the truck should be unloaded and pieces moved. I will say that they worked hard and only stopped to eat a quick lunch. Overall I felt as though I got what I paid for. If I could have kept a better eye on them I think it would have gone a little smoother (damage) but I was by myself and I needed to direct where everything needed to go as my wife was dealing with our toddler.

We are sorry that your feelings are mixed. You were over 75 miles away from the crew Woodbridge VA to California MD and we were scheduled to be there at 9 am on a Friday 06/14/2019. Unfortunately the rush hour traffic that am was a lot worse than we expected, and a 2 hour drive turned into a 4 hour drive. We apologize for not being better prepared that day and learned, understood and fixed the issue. After speaking to the crew they said that your furniture was already dinged when they unloaded the pod and they were not padded with blankets. I understand the frustration with having your furniture dinged up, but if no one is inspecting the items as they come off the pod it could be a good chance those items were dinged during loading or transport. Now, I am not saying my guys didn't cause a few dings (I will elaborate on that next) but if you are not aware of the condition coming of the pod it will be hard to put all blame on the crew that only unloaded your items from the pod while you were in the house. Also, I do agree with the statement about the crew being young but I would have to disagree with them not having experience. They have worked for us for over 1 year now and they are experienced. Now, we have crew members with different levels of experience. When booking on Hireahelper customers have an option to choose between an (Elite) or (Standard) crew. The cost is different just as the level of experience is different. Most customers that will be moving expensive, valuable items will chose the (Elite) crew option. Customers that are interested in just a few guys for some muscle will chose the (Standard) crew. Both crews will be experienced of course but the (Elite) option will provide a different level of experience and quality for the extra cost. We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope we were able to clarify a few details. We hope with this information that if you decide to hire movers -via- Hireahelper platform whether you use Moving with Pride or not that you choose the (Elite) crew option if you want the best experienced and top quality crew members.

They guys did an amazing job and I happily tipped them, but they also broke literally the only box I had labeled fragile and I lost about half my dishes and glasses. They were very apologetic, but I was told I could only get reimbursed if I could provide a receipt. Stinks, because they broke a mug my wife painted for me 8 years ago.

Customers should have items that are able to be boxed, in boxes and labeled accordingly. If loading is required they should have blankets and some sort of tie-downs.
