I’d booked with another (and more expensive) moving company for 2 hours to arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 am. They never showed and when I called at 10:30 they acted like they had no clue they’d been booked. J.M. Movers saved the day! They arrived by 1:00 with very little notice and after driving from the other side of town. Had me unloaded in less than an hour. I would recommend them to anyone! Thanks again!

Everything went real well. They contacted me and set a plan. The guys got there and carried all of the heavy tool boxes and motorcycles (about 6,000 pounds worth) In under 2 1/2 hours.

I hired J.M movers for both packing up my truck on move out day and unloading my truck the next day when I could move in. First, the positives: Curtis, one of the movers that arrived was very courteous and had great ideas for arranging my furniture in my new house, especially the bedroom furniture. Thanks Curtis! These movers were also the most affordable and also insured (not that I needed it, but peace of mind is good). The negatives: Craig Boothe the apparent owner of the company and the only phone contact I had once I hired them through Hireahelper.com never returned my calls before the movers arrived. There was some sort of family emergency and so he was out of town, but I called multiple times and one of those was before the family emergency happened. I was very skeptical that they would even arrive at all. On Hireahelper's website it says this company provides dollys, furniture pads, etc, for free on local moves upon request. Since none of my phone calls ever got returned, the movers showed up with nothing and then told me they couldn't move my washer and dryer without an appliance dolly which I then had to go and rent. JM movers did reimburse me for the cost of the dolly rental, however. Chrisy, who was apparently in charge while Craig was away, says that I did not ever request the furniture pads or dolly. When I called hireahelper.com they told me to contact the number that was provided in the email confirmation to set up those things, which I tried to do but got no return phone call. I was also unaware that if the movers went over the 3 hr minimum that they would then need to be paid in cash before they left. Understandable, but it would be good to know so that you can have the cash on hand. I was very happy with Curtis, but extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and confusion with the whole process. I chose this company since they had good reviews, but I don't think from my experience I can rate them the same as some other reviewers.

Very helpful and courteous. Arrived on time and had everything moved into my townhouse in under two hours. Would definitely recommend and use again!!

The movers were very helpful and effecient. In addition, they were very insightful in giving us tips about an area that we were unfamiliar with. Only drawback was that they asked for $10 traveling fee when we were told that what we paid on our credit card through Hire a Helper was the only payment. This has nothing to do with the movers. I think a reimbursement should be given from Hire A Helper.

I should have known something was wrong when they called me the day before my move, because they thought that my appointment was cancelled and they wanted me to confirm if I still needed their help. They promised me that they would see me the next day at 11:00 AM per my request. The movers showed up 4 hours late!! I was in the process of trying to find family members to help me move and I ended up moving most of my stuff by myself before they finally showed up. On top of everything the movers broke my bookcase. They were apologetic for being late because their previous job ran over, but 4 hours is unacceptable to me. I could understand maybe 1 or 2 hours but 4 hours is just bad scheduling. I am a very unsatisfied customer and I will never use them again. On a positive note the helpers were friendly and I acknowledge it was not their fault, but the person that created their schedule overbooked them. I just hate that I scheduled this move almost a month in advance and confirmed it a month in advance and it ended up being a total disaster!!!
