If you want to get an idea of the people that work for this company just read their responses to customer reviews. It is literally jaw dropping the aggressive and rude things they say if you give them less than 5 stars. I read them to a friend that’s worked in customer service for years and he couldn’t believe the blatant unprofessionalism. I wish I had read them before I booked them. I can’t even begin to imagine how they will respond to this post, but I’m excited to hear what hashtags they’ll throw on this unhappy customer!

I have never felt so ripped off in my life as I have with this company. Moving is already stressful but these guys made my day a nightmare. It was a complete disaster. I was told by hire a helper to book only minimum of two hours and then I’d just pay each additional hour after that since we didn’t know how long it would take.
It took 3 men 8 hours to move just me, a single person’s house into 2 large pods that didn’t even fill up the entirely. Seriously y’all, no matter what they will say, I don’t have that much stuff.
Literally the one qualification for this job is the ability to move things and only 2 of the 3 were able. They tracked mud into my home, even after I gave them shoe coverings, then they took a smoke break and stood in water, and rather than taking off the shoe coverings they just left them on and dragged it back into the house. I literally had to babysit and constantly give one of them instruction as he would just stop and stare into space and not work, on my dime. Seriously, I had everything boxed up and ready to go in my garage and they were so pathetically slow that I had to rush to help them to fill their truck in time to get to the pod warehouse before they closed. Towards the end, the precious expensive items I specifically requested they take care of were essentially thrown on the truck and the majority of the items not even tied down. Things were falling over left and right, luckily I took pictures. Some of my boxes got sopping wet because they had a leak in the ceiling of their truck. I packed the pods myself because these guys clearly didn’t know what they were doing, and I was lucky that pods was so kind to let me stay after hours because we didn’t show up until 15 minutes before they closed.

Hire a helper has not yet discounted the price or made amends to me. I will be disputing the charges with my credit card company.
I pray that when I reach my final destination my things aren’t completely wrecked.
Some advice to the moving boys, if you’re going to be in the business of moving people things it should be no surprise that your clients expect timely people who can lift above average. And arguing that will completely discredit you and your company.

Mover's response:
If we were able to meet clients “expectations” we would be olympians with endorsement deals and not movers to ungrateful clients who tell only half of the story. There are some items to review and correct however theres always 3 sides to every story. With this one theres no mention of day one we had to postpone due to weather because emergency management said stay off the roads if at all possible. We even tried to come out once the snow had thawed but we were under a time restraint so we rescheduled for the following day at 10-11 arrival. Crew arrived at 10:30am and worked diligently to take everything up and down the driveway due to pitch. The crew worked as fast as they could and then once we worked more than the contracted time (something we dont have to do). We brought a 32’ truck that was filled instead of a 26’ requested at no extra charge. You made the call to release the crew and to load the pods yourself. If hire a helper hasnt offered you a refund…. That should shed some light on issues as 98% of the time Hire A Helper sides with the clients.

They arrived within the allotted time frame. Unfortunately, they called and said they would arrive at 9:45 and then at 9:45 they called and said the had gotten stuck in traffic and wouldn't arrive until 10:45. We were waiting for them for an hour in the cold. They were both hard workers and they were very respectful to us and to our belongings. I would recommend them for anyone who lives in their area but I would not use them again because apparently they drove for 2 hours to get to us. I would rather hire someone who lives closer and can arrive without the possibility of getting stuck in traffic for an hour.

They were on time and ready to go when they arrived. Both of them were hard working and very respectful of not damaging anything. They did a great job packing our things into the pod and filled every inch so we wouldn’t have to leave things behind. I would definitely recommend and use them again.

Helpers were delayed by several hours. It didn’t appear to be their fault, but caused problems for us.

Mover's response:
Some clients do not disclose the truth about their moving needs. While this was NOT the case with this client it certainly was with the prior client which held the crew back from being able to arrive on time. As frustrating as it is each of our clients get and deserve the best service and attention we can possibly give. In moving sometimes unforeseeable things happen and we have to find the resolutions for clients issues. That makes us great but also many times means we have to
Stay longer than what we thought we would

I would like to say a big thank you to the movers. They were very professional. They were on time and had everything they needed to do the job. They were very respectful and took care with my things. I would recommend them and when my next POD is delivered, I hope I get the same people again.

Had 2 guys come to unload - 2 (12 foot containers). Had a couple pieces that were heavy. They used their lift straps and had a tough time getting up the stairs. One piece they say on the top tread of the stair and scuffed the stair. Luckily I know how to fix this with stain and will do so myself.

They also wanted to bring in a 2 wheeler on my new floors and I told them NO. The do not bring any protective coverings for flooring and thought is was OK to use the 2 wheeler.

This is the 2nd time using Moving Boys and had issues. Probably will look elsewhere going forward.

Thanks
Brett Padgett

Mover's response:
Youre upset because the crew wanted to use mechanical leverage to move heavy items??? We are not required to bring protective coverings as every single service is different. If our crews were as strong as clients expect and had the stamina clients expect we would be in the olympics NOT moving people. Please be realistic. We cant hire based on are you strong? are you tall? Can you move 150lbs alone? Again be realistic in a world no one wants to work we came in with a crew and performed a job the client himself didnt want to do. Going forward its best if we dont try to squeeze this
Guy into our schedule last minute again.
