They were wonderful. What can I say. They were professional and friendly. Were careful of my belongings. Put everything where I wanted it. I can’t say enough nice things about the work they did

The only good thing was that they were on time. However, it was downhill from there. They didn't have the moving blankets, nor furniture pads on the truck. He had to return to u-haul to get them(still took credit for being on the job). Was asked if I had boxes for my TV's. Purchased 3 TV moving kits, only to have him not use them because he would have to take the legs of the TV'S to place them the kits. It took them almost 7hrs to move 17 items. Broke one of my TV'S damaged 3 of my tables. Will never ever use this service again.

They were very contientious taking a lot of care while moving my furniture. I would highly recommend them!

This was by far the worst packing job I’ve seen anyone do. They had no concept of packing delicate things or similar things separately. They used a thin sheet of paper to wrap everything including kitchen serving ware, glass vases etc - not even bubble wrap. We had so many broken glasses and vases. They had emptied entire drawers straight into the boxes - bulbs underneath heavy tools, knives loose in a box of kitchen servingware and ladles. The only thing they did a decent job with was packing mirrors. They used furniture pads and shrink wrap as opposed to all other wall decor including glass picture frames which barely got a shrink wrap - let alone any padding. All in all, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience and I’d not recommend Handy Relocations for packing to anyone.

Dorian and José were phenenomenal!
Pleasant, courteous, hardworking, and hit the ground running!

I've moved at least 12 times in my lifetime and this was by far the best experience I've ever had.

Dorian and José deserve a raise as they are definitely an asset to the company. Kudos!!

Great communications before the job started. They were on time and were very professional in their work. They worked very hard and were very respectful of our property and goods. I would absolutely use them again if I have a need. A great experience overall.

My movers were on time, worked really hard to help me make my moving deadline and they were respectful of my property.

I just can't say enough good things about the lovely young men who helped me with my move yesterday from Hire a Helper and Handy Relocations!

Such hard workers and they were also really smart about the way they handled what turned out to be a huge logistical task as well.

I had a truly enjoyable experience and I plan to use Handy Relocations and Hire a Helper again in the future. Especially if I could get the same crew again!

I was very concerned about Handy Relocations on the Wednesday before my Saturday move. So I called Hire-a-Helper and spoke with "Philip" to express my concerns. Philip got a woman named Macy from Handy Relocations on the phone, who assured me she was sending me a pro. Derek, who studied engineering, has excellent spatial thinking abilities, and a lot of experience packing "PODS". Derek was indeed very professional, and he got everything from my basement out of the house and into my storage container. However, it took a lot of my own labor (which I had not planned on), and a lot more time than estimated I can report: not all Handy Relocations staff are as professional and responsible as Derek. When confirming my job, I was assured by Macy in customer service that the company does not hire college students or inexperienced workers. Apparently, Derek's partner had oversleep, so Handy Relocations sent a 14-year old (!) to work with Derek. Not even sure that is legal. My 2-hour job stretched to 3.5 hours, largely because Derek had to spend quite a bit of time training and directing the teenager worker. Luckily, the PODS driver Frank agreed to wait, or I would have been in real trouble! I think Hire-a-Helper should reimburse some or all of the extra fee I had to pay.

Get To Know Us

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

Quick contact and confirmation going over details so we can devise a game plan for your big day

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

Clear and concise communication. Not a "fast" move but a very efficient one done with care as if the items belonged to us.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

Be finished packing up all of your items first and foremost!!! There are occasions where we show up and can only move at the speed of the customer because they're still packing. Labeling is also a very underrated aspect of a smooth move. It helps in the unload because items can be placed where you want them and when we leave, your house is set up the way you need.

What types of moves have you handled?

Local, long distance, re-organization/home projects, assembly and disassembly of items

What's your favorite part about being a mover?

The fact that no two jobs are the same! I get to see every side of Michigan and interact with a diverse customer base.

What training do you provide your crew members?

We have a checklist that we go through with all of our new employees to certify them as moving experts. This includes dolly training, packing, proper shrink wrapping technique and wall protection methods for larger items coming out of rooms.
