The men definitely arrived on time, were very respectful and made a proper assessment of the contents and how they would fit. I was concerned that it wouldn't all fit (and it didn't) but what they managed to get into the pod was surprising. I was impressed. I was consulted when they needed some input about how I wanted things prioritized; especially after we knew it wouldn't all fit. On the down side, they did did take a few phone calls while they were working and a couple were personal. They did knock a piece a furniture into an outdoor sconce and I'm left to repair it. Overall I was very pleased with their work.

They showed up an hour late from the time I had confirmed with their dispatch the night before. I only had 2 hours to move my stuff in and had to start without them. The only saving grace is that when they did show up they hustled and completed the remainder of the move within the final hour. The movers that arrived were hard workers and polite, but their management needs some work.

The guys were very nice and did the whole job in the dark, and they were quick and very good about helping move or existing furniture out of the way, and brought things wherever we needed them to. Only downside is they were about an hour late, but everything got done, so we were happy.

I needed some people to help me unload a 20 ft mini pod when we moved. When I called the Pod company I was told go on line to "Hire a Helper". Long story short, I hired "Affordable Moving" through this site. The men were at my house on time, worked very hard from the time they arrived until the time they left. I felt very comfortable the men who showed up. great people with a great attitude. The people from Hire A helper were in contact with me making sure all was going fine. The two movers from Affordable Moving arrived within the requested window (between 10am - 11am). They were polite, courteous, and accommodating to most of my requests.
Unfortunately, several pieces of furniture were damaged. Among the damaged items were a set of drawers, which was dropped and one of the drawers smashed to pieces; a couch received a 3" tear in the upholstery when moving another item next to the couch (I could see they were close to the couch with the other item, I alerted them to be careful because they were so close to the couch, they acknowledged, but proceeded to accidentally damage the couch anyways); and another couch was pivoted on asphalt, cracking apart one of the legs.
I was also not happy with the way the last few feet of the trailer was loaded. As the move approached the last hour, things became rushed, and items were loosely thrown on top of each other. I am nervous to see how these last items will come out at the final destination.
Overall, I would say that if you want cheap help with moving, Affordable Movers are nice professionals to work with. Personally, I value my belongings and I'm upset that these large, expensive items were damaged and that more items may be damaged by the time my trailer makes it to its final destination. In hindsight, spending the extra cash to hire movers that are more careful with my belongings would be money well spent (and pay for itself in repair and replacement savings). In the future, I will spend the extra money to go with a higher rated company.
