These guys were excellent! Arrived on time and completed the job on time. Worked very hard the entire time. Wrapped my furniture and packed the pod - terrific job! Highly recommend. They know what they are doing.

We used a pod-like storage unit to move our things cross-country, but I wanted some help getting our things packed and loaded. I messed up and forgot to book anyone until the last minute. I found Magic Moves via Hire a Helper, and I submitted a request online. I got a call from them shortly afterwards, accepting the job. Their pricing is pretty easy to understand: I booked 2 people for 2 hours, with the ability to pay by the hour form there. I liked that system, because I really had no idea how long things would take. They were pretty flexible in terms of being able to stay after the initial 2 hour reservation. They didn't count time gathering supplies in the time, but only started counting when they actually got to work. They brought a dolly and packing paper/shrink wrap to protect our belongings. The movers were friendly and professional. I never got the sense that they were trying to rush things or that they were trying to extend our time unnecessarily. I waited to write this review until we unpacked things on the other side. Of all our belongings, there was 1 box that wasn't packed well, and one small item that was damaged as a result, but that was it. I'm not sure what happened with that one box, but everything else came out on the other end well-packaged and in great shape. Considering that we had a fair bit of crystal in addition to other potentially fragile items, I was pretty happy with the result!

Two people from this firm were hired on two separate occasions to help me in the first occasion, to organize boxes I had packed (2 hours), and on the second occasion, to load the boxes into a rental truck (2 hours) for transport to an out of state location. For each job, they were on time and did the job in the time I had estimated. For both jobs, numerous unpacked articles were wrapped in shrink-wrap plastic and boxed, or wrapped in protective blankets for shipment. For the second job, I hired people from the same firm as the first job because I was pleased with their performance on the first job, and because they had the experience with my particular needs. Of the two workers, one was the boss and one was the subordinate. The subordinate was a different person for the second job and I found this person quite uncommunicative and unfriendly. The leader was friendly and professional. There was one minor negative: for the second job, I was initially charged 50% more for the shrink wrap compared with the first usage--until I complained about the price change. The price was then lowered. Best to check on prices of add-ons before one proceeds with the job. After the truck was packed and the goods tied down, I drove 500 miles to the final destination. When I opened the door of the truck, nothing had moved out of place. Good packing job!! I would use Magic Movers, LLC again for work of this nature.
thank you for granting Magic Movers LLC the chance to help you twice, we really feel so sorry for any inconvenience caused to you on the second part of the job due to sending different team member. in case of shrink wrap charge price will vary if they had a used shrink wrap roll or new one so I am guessing this is the reason behind it and it is not a familiar or normal thing for the movers to sell the shrink wrap. thank you so much for raising this point

Excellent support! They were professional, courteous, and worked quickly and efficiently. They handled my belongings very carefully, as if they were transporting fine china. They finished a two hour job in an hour and a half, even in the pouring rain. I would recommend this company to anyone who appreciates exceptional workmanship.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?
After Contact your Moving Company for a free moving estimate and you already booked your moving day. 1-Start Packing and Stay Organized 2-Pack fragile and loose items from drawers into moving boxes. 3- set up basics in your new home and disconnected in your old space. That include water, electricity and gas. 4-Drain gasoline and oil from lawn mowers, generators, snow blowers, etc. 5-Disconnect propane tank from gas grill. Your movers will not be able to transport the tank on moving day.
