If you are looking through reviews deciding whether or not to use this company I hope my experience will serve as a warning and prevent you from using this company for your move. My experience with them was a complete and total nightmare.
I thought it would be a normal, easy transaction of paying money in exchange for a service after I confirmed with my mover the night before my move the date, time, location of my move, and where I had left a spare key for them. I was wrong. My mover was scheduled to move some items from my home between 11:00AM-1:00PM. I received notification via email that my 2 hour time was about to start shortly before 11:00. Upon receiving notice that the time I had paid for was almost up (~12:45PM) I called Hire A Helper to ask for an update. I was told all is going according to plan and asked that they inform the movers to finish the job if they have to go over the 2 hour limit as I would be happy to pay for an extra 30 minutes if necessary. I confirmed with Hire A Helper that this was understood and would be relayed to the movers.
At 4:00 PM I received a phone call from my roommate saying that *none* of my items had been moved. Assist Moving Company would not answer any of my phone calls. I was on hold with customer service from Hire a Helper who was completely unaware that Assist had failed to show up to my home. Meanwhile, I had to rush home from work, pay for a UHaul, recruit 2 friends to assist me at the very last minute, and move my couch, bed, chairs, grill, and other miscellaneous items to my storage unit before driving to the airport to fly out of the country for a trip. It only took us 2 hours so I cannot imagine it would have taken professional movers much longer.
If you would like to hire somebody who is unreliable, unresponsive, and unprofessional then look no further than Assist Moving Company! If you would like to hire somebody to actually move your belongings and treat you with an ounce of respect then I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

This is our second time using Assist Moving Company and they did a wonderful job. Definitely will be referring these guys out for anyone's move. Thanks JL and the team for the seamless transition.

They over booked and cancled on me the original day scheduled. They came the next day and were overbooked again. They rushed and generaly did a poor job for the $1,200 I paid. They left the house before having everything packed, I had to literally run and stop them from leaving. I tried to confirm the address with them, but they were in a hurry and went to the wrong address. When unloading I was told they were running late and asked to unload everything into the garage, I said that was not what I paid for and asked for things to be placed in the correct rooms. Unless I followed them the boxes went in the garage. Most of the boxes ended up stacked onto of fragile materials in the garage. They objected to putting my bed back together and refused to assemble a second one. Finally, the most frustrating of all they disassembled 5 plastic shelves that held garage gear. After days of opening boxes there is no sign of the poles for my shelves. This cost $300+ to replace and days of pointless searching. I can only assume they delivered my poles to someone else. I recieved a wooden toilet seat that belongs to someone else.

I was very pleased with Assist Moving Company. They arrived exactly on time. Actually I was running late but Jay and his crew were very patient. All the workers were friendly, polite, respectful. They worked efficiently and stayed within the time frame I had asked for. My daughter has also used this company and was equally pleased. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others.

I had problems with the one I chose, they called me the night before to confirm and then the morning of he called to say the workers worked until 1am and couldn’t help until 1 pm the day of. Then I called and he said they were on their way I called again and he said they would be there shortly, needless to say they didn’t arrive until 248pm and both myself and my daughter helped so we could make sure we got all we needed out within the 2 hours as they weren’t moving like they wanted to do all we did in 2 hours. I am never using this service again especially for the amount of money I paid. I had an appointment scheduled for later in the day and had to reschedule bc they were so late on getting here to help. Nice guys just not the right ones for me??????????????

Slow, no hustle. They asked me to help (I did a bit) and we still went way over the time that other movers had done on their own. My wife found pee all over the side of the guest toilet when she went back to the old apartment. We also heard them complain a lot while they were outside. They were pretty good about securing everything in their truck, and they did work pretty hard if not fast. Will not use these guys in the future.
I've been in the moving industry a while and an inexperienced crew or a crew that was complaining would have easily been a 10+ hr move. Not to mention the 2 feet of snow from the snow storm the day before.
The scope of work included 2 king size beds, a double recliner couch(appx weight 350lbs) over 50 boxes, 5 book shelf's, 2 office desk with chairs and more. I think that we did a great job with the 2 guys order and the scope of work. We truly tried to make you happy and appreciate you taking the the time to review our service. Thank you for your business
