First, they were very accommodating of last minute schedule fluctuations. The two people who came to move my things were quick, efficient, careful and conscientious. They went above and beyond just moving, helping to take things apart and put them back together. I would definitely use them again.

What a great first time experience using Mac's Moving Services! The job went so smoothly...from the heads up/reminder call from Eric to the guys (Anthony and Edgar) showing up right on time, filling my POD to the roof in record time, pleasant and polite all the way through to end...these guys were great! I will be having them come back to reverse all their work when I empty my POD. Would highly recommend...A++++++!!!

Super nice guys, thoughtful, careful and knowledgeable about how they were loading and securing all the items. Moved bulky items through tight squeezes carefully. I will say right up front that the only reason I am not giving Mac's Moving a one star review is because the laborers themselves were awesome. They deserve five stars. The leadership in this company, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. We actually decided to spend over $100 extra to hire this company instead of some of their competition because they had such great reviews and we wanted to be certain of getting a good company, which makes our experience that much more disappointing.
Our laborers were originally scheduled to come between 10-11AM the day of the job, and were supposed to call when they were on their way. When they hadn't arrived and hadn't called by 11:10, I called in and spoke to Eric. He said they'd been delayed on a previous job and the new ETA would be between 12-1PM. That was fine, I understand that things happen, but when 1 o'clock came and went with no sign and no word, I started to worry. I waited until almost 1:30, then called Eric again, but this time it rang once and went to voicemail. I left a message that was never returned, and when I still hadn't heard anything by 2 I tried again with the same results. I wound up having to call Hire a Helper, and naturally Eric answered the phone for them immediately, but I would have been screwed if I had hired them directly and had no one to intervene on my behalf. I do understand that things happen that the company might not have control over, but if so I would like to be kept informed of their status instead of wondering what happened and when they are going to decide to show up, or if they are still coming at all.
As stated above, once the guys showed up, they themselves were amazing. We had booked four hours for our job because we had a lot of heavy stuff, including a piano that had to go up a flight of stairs, but they breezed through it in a hour an a half. Very hard workers, very nice, and somehow managed it all without beating up the walls and they didn't break a single thing.
I did find out when they were leaving that it was going to be an extra $150 because we had two flights of stairs instead of one, and I wasn't happy about that either. Not because I don't feel it was deserved (it's hard to haul heavy furniture up multiple flights of stairs), but because that should have been something I was told up front (like the extra fee for the piano), not sprung on me afterwards. That also goes to leadership, though, not the workmen.
So if you are looking to hire this company, think carefully about whether you think you can deal with the corporate part of it in order to get the level of service the laborers provide. The men get five stars. Eric gets one.

Mickey and Kevin were courteous and professional from the greeting until the finish. The job went over 2 hrs from what I estimated and they continued without complaint. They loaded my packrat with care and got everything inside snugly. The container left on time later that day for our move from CT to CO. I would definitely recomment Mac's Moving to anyone who wants the job done right. Thanks guys for representing your Company with pride, a rare thing these days.
