The workers arrived the day of the move (new workers had to be organised as the original ones were involved in an accident and could not come), and were prepared for the job. They immediately went to work.

I don't think that they were as respectful of my property and goods as they could have been. All the furniture, including antique wooden pieces were taken from the house and loaded without any protective coverings. A white silk sofa that I myself had carefully covered arrived bare.

Nothing majorly bad happened, just a lot of little things that added up. Casters were lost off of a sofa and a bureau. Boxes that said in large, clear letters "VERY FRAGILE: CRYSTAL STEMWARE" and "VERY FRAGILE: CHINA" were found under 4 boxes of books. Two legs were broken off of two other bureaus.

I work 12 hour shifts at times myself, and I work hard, so I thought that for a 2-hour job it was a bit much that they took the breaks they did.

I was also surprised that I was asked to confirm 3 hours worth of work (and pay for 3 hours of work) when only 2 hours was done. I would have gladly paid for 3 in fact, but 2 hours into it they promptly halted and "called the job in", leaving priority items I had placed in the yard to be moved first there where I had placed them. I had been direct with the order and priority in which I wished for items to be moved and handled.

Nothing occured that made me want to refer with overt enthusiasm these two movers to any friend or aquaintance.
