Mover showed up and before even saying hello pointed at my dog and said, "You need to take care of that." I explained that the dog was friendly, and he refused to enter the house until we did something with the dog. I also explained that if a dog was a problem, that should have been made clear during the hiring process. I got the dog squared away (barking the whole time from the back yard), and the movers worked for a couple of hours before informing me that we did not have enough space in the PODS I had rented. Not their fault, but they suggested that they'd be back to help when I got the second PODS, but that turned out not to be the case -- apparently I needed to call Hire a Helper again. So I was without movers when I needed to be out of the house. Lastly, the PODS was loaded poorly. Material shifted, bent, broke, scratched, etc. Furniture that should have been disassembled was not, and furniture that shouldn't have been was. Anything that WAS disassembled, the screws/bolts/other hardware has disappeared. This was a very bad experience. The movers I hired on the other end were excellent and did their best to help with a bad situation (they also said that they work around dogs all the time, because "everyone has a dog").

Unfortunately the team did not show. I hired them through Hire A Helper to assist in unloading my POD. I am unsure of where the communication got missed, but I was not made aware the team would not becoming, not longer works for Hire a Helped, and had booked other jobs for the day, until over an hour after my appt window after multiple calls made by myself to both HireAHelper and Felipe with Side Guys. Felipe and I had spoken on the phone when I first booked so he did have my information so I would have appreciated him reaching out to let me know. I believe he was relying on Hire A Helper to inform me they would not be coming, although Hire A Helper reports not knowing the Side Guys has chosen to stop working with them. Regardless I was able to find a replacement, this comment in no way reflects this company’s work as I was unable to see it, but the lack of communication and no show situation was certainly disappointing after driving 14 hours straight to meet them here in time.

I do not feel like they came prepared for the job. For example, they did not bring gloves to protect their hands. They had to take a washer and dryer upstairs and when they did, it slipped out of there hands and created a hole in my drywall and in the hardwood floor. Everytime I had to call them to get anything set up to make the repairs, but the day they was to come make the repairs I did not get a phone call to tell me they were not coming. I was able to leave a message the next day, but they have never called me back. Very disappointing with the service.

I recently moved across the country and hired these guys to unload my PODS container for me. They showed up on time ready to dig in. They were fast and thorough and were done ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend considering these guys if you need help with heavy items. Nice guys too!
