I hired this company because they had great reviews and positive customer feedback and I felt confident in my choice. Come moving day, the movers are a no show and they do not answer my calls. I was very disappointed in their lack of professionalism by not showing up and not communicating with me that they could not make it. I contacted Hire A Helper and they were able to provide me a full refund which I appreciated but unfortunately, I was stuck moving all my things. While I am sure others had a great experience, I hope what happened to me does not happen to others as moving can be stressful enough.
I was diagnosed with 17 kidney stones was not aware you could have that many. After several months I am now completely healed .

The gentlemen who showed were nice enough, but the company was very disorganized. I would not use them again unless I had no other alternative.
There were supposed to be 2 helpers for 2 hours and only 1 showed and he was trying but damaged some of my items in the process. Apparently they called another person to come help him, who told me this was his first day on the job, didn't know the other guy who was currently there, that he brought his cousin with him (but wanted to assure me that there would be no charge for his cousin's help ((I asked that he not help because I didn't think he would be insured to help)) and that company had only talked to him over the phone. When the second guy showed up the guy that had been there from the start and the new guy were having words between them. The guy who had been there from the beginning wanted to leave since they were both going to get paid for 2 hours of work regardless. As a single female, that's a bit of a safety issue on several fronts.
No follow up by the owner in regards to my items that were damaged.
Since there was only one guy at the beginning and he didn't know if anyone else was coming to help, he dragged my mattress across the floors and ripped the mattress and other items. I had told them I have a Pilates reformer that would need to be moved in the request and they dragged it also and I found parts and pieces of it down in the freight elevator. Super frustrating; super disappointing.
Definitely a last resort company!

Arrived at. 9:15am for a 2 hr job. At 10:45am they told me they were going into over time (after 90 min). They charged me dur 2.5 hr.
They argued with me about how to load the truck and ended up not being able to fit all my boxes because they packed fragiles on the floor of the truck and couldn't put file boxes on top of them. Instead of putting fragiles on top of file boxes (which I requested they do). I had to make 3 extra trips to my old house because of they're re poor packing.
They took 2 smoke breaks in 2 hrs (and charged me for 2 1/2 hours).
They picked up a decorative wooden chest by the feet and broke a foot off. I discovered it when I was unpacking the truck. Trunk was upside down, with broken foot laying on top. No indication anything shifted in transit.
I called them two days later and they asked me to send pictures and call back the next day. I texted pictures right away, they didn't pick up the phone for 3 days (voice mail was full). I texted, but no response. On day 4 the owner answered, told me he was about to go into surgery, send the pictures again and call him tomorrow. I sent pictures again and called the next day. He said he had to talk to his workers and he would call me back. Once of his workers call me on a separate line and said he would come over and repair the chest. I told him it's a valuable chest and I want a professional to do it, can I send them the bill? He said the boss had to make that call. It has been 2 week and they won't return my calls.
Terrible service, hire a helper should not use Professional Moving Services, they are awful, and make me think twice about using Hire A Helper for my next move.

They were on time. They worked very, very hard. They were friendly, professional, respectful and efficient. They went above and beyond - helping with things they weren’t required to, super kind with my children - letting them help and showing them how to do things. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them! Those poor guys had to move me up four flights of stairs and never complained once and maintained a positive and friendly attitude.
