We recently used JC mover services and we were not satisfied with the service. Much of our property was damaged during the move, specifically during the loading process. Heavy items were dragged and ripped even before they made it to the truck. Some items were being thrown from the top floor into the parking lot and the dining room table was neither wrapped or even covered (we had blankets left over so a lack of these was not the issue)

We also called and email them multiple times to help resolve the issue but they went completely silent. We were able to start a claim with hire a helper but that didn't even cover the cost of the service.

We understand things can get somewhat damaged ( minor scratches, broken glass ect ) however the damage was beyond what's expected and the worst part was the lack of communication. DO NOT HIRE unless you want to go through the pain of having a lot of things damaged

Crew was on time and worked hard. They were nice and personable. Unfortunately they seemed hurried and were careless. They damaged a handle on our refrigerator, and broke a leg on a dresser. Also an assortment of scratches and dings on other pieces of furniture and lamp shades.They seemed to need better training. If they used moving straps instead of dollies and 2 wheel carts for the furniture I think things would gone smoother. We were okay with the damage to the dresser leg because it had a previous crack and was made of pressed wood. But the other unnecessary damage was inexcusable.

Our original window of arrival was between 8-9 am on 8/30/22 Order #: 1735946. Our city POD promptly showed up on time at 7:30, they are only there for 4 hours and not the typical POD time due to the city street parking. We booked an arrival of 8-9 am for JC Movers for 2 hours to be able to assess and see if another hour would be needed. They showed up at 9:40am, very late and smelled and were acting both very high and very slow. After one trip down the stairs (which were listed and billed on the work order) they call their company saying this job needs another person, to which then the company calls asking for another person to be added. I declined. The pod was only going to be there for another hour and a half and my wife and I began working alongside the two workers to get as much done as possible. I understand that we have a lot of stairs and it is demanding to move an apartment, that’s why we hired a moving company. And for the workers to show up late and high and demand another worker after one trip is unacceptable and so unprofessional. Once the pod had to leave at 11:30 am, we signed their paper for their 2 hour agreed service. Our apartment is not even halfway complete and now we will have to reschedule another POD visit and charge. Adding insult to injury, they asked for a tip at the end saying they accept cash. They also said they accept cash apps like Venmo; completely unprofessional. I really hope we have some options with refunds as this service was not worth our time or money.

LeBreu was terrible right from the get go. Royce was easy to work with and listened to what I asked of him. LeBreu was the exact opposite, on the phone constantly, lazy and didn’t do what I asked of him. In fact I have damage to report that he was directly responsible for. In one case he tried to carry a large chair by himself, while entering the door at the new location fell into a set of closet doors with it and broke them. The second was with a dresser. I asked that he remove the drawers when getting out of the house, and again at the destination. He instead shrink wrapped a blanket around it. However, the dresser wasn’t able to withstand the beating up and down stairs on a dolly. The entire bottom was broke. Then when the job was complete, he tried to charge for a time after they were done, and then additionally tried to adjust the paperwork for an extra 2 hrs! Essentially scamming me. I would not hire the company again as a result of him. I would be happy to have Royce work on a move again though.

Two hours late, then half the staff for two more hours, until nearly half the day was gone before we had the four workers as promised. Two were totally inexperienced with how to pack items into boxes, and how to stack goods into the shipping containers. The two who knew what to do were overwhelmed. Our stuff was pretty much just thrown into poorly taped boxes, often not sealed shut, and then stacked haphazardly into the waiting UPacks. When they were finished, the boxes and furniture pieces were tipped in all directions with some of the lower ones crushed. We had to do our best to unpack and redo much of it the next day after they had gone. We didn’t have the time or strength to redo everything, but It is obvious that much will be broken inside by the time it reaches its destination. The company does not guarantee anything that is broken and they say to monitor packing, but with four of them throwing things onto boxes fast, that was impossible. Poor moral was between them, with one of them obviously upset about the sloppy work that they were doing. The oldest one worked extremely slowly, though not carefully, and annoyed the others by bossing them around. They did not use our moving blankets well to wrap furniture, leaving vulnerable parts exposed. They also put two large marks and several small ones in our home’s drywall as they carried furniture, and they dragged heavy furniture putting six long scratches in the hardwood floors. It was an excruciating, frustrating, and totally upsetting experience. So sorry we hired them.

Almost two hours late. Broke things we asked them not to touch. Broke drywall and wrecked paint. Tried to skip out with two of our TVs, one of which was broken. Left without helping us unpack. Circled “no” on paperwork where it asked about broken items.

What can a customer expect after booking with you?

A followed up phone to introduce our Move Coordinator and an opportunity to discuss the details of the move and any special instructions on the date of service. We will also call the day before to confirm the order is still scheduled as planned.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?

Our trained and skilled crew will follow up with an introduction call from the morning of the job to confirm all needed material and tools that are needed with and estimated arrival time. As well as 15 minutes before arriving the crew will call the customer so the customer is prepared for their arrival.

How should a customer prepare for moving day?

Please remove all items from the dresser drawers to avoid any values being misplaced or any fragile items being damaged. Have all boxes labeled and sealed (fragile, Kitchen, bob's room, etc.). Please have all pets confined to one area during the move. Please don't book a family outing or event on the same day as move day because unexpected situations occur beyond our control.

What's your favorite part about being a mover?

The opportunity to meet and greet new people from all walks of life such as different religions, corporate america, famous, etc. The ability to learn from each of them and open my mind to new things in life.
