First, understand that if you make a claim for damages and accept payment, you also must agree to not post a negative comment about this mover. Therefore, all you see are good reviews.
I hired this company, via Hire a Helper recommended by Pods, to unload our belongings from the pods into a new three-story home. Xtra Affordable was notified in advance that it was a three-story home. I also called them to see if there was anything special I needed to do to protect the stairways during the move and was assured the movers were experienced and would take precautions to not damage the home.
That definitely did not occur. They had no knowledge of how to bring large pieces up the stairs and around the corners. They took 2 of 3 doors off our refrigerator, yet still managed to horribly dent and scratch the door they couldn't take off as well as scratch both sides of the refrigerator. When reinstalling the 2 doors they took off, they failed to put all the screws back on and didn't bother to tighten those they did put back on. So that refrigerator will need to be replaced.
They also tore up the walls, which required not only paint touch up, but repairs with spackle, chipped the new hardwood floors, banged and almost pushed off the banister, and chipped the front door frame requiring wood putty and paint refinishes.
They were a disaster with large items.
I ABSOLUTELY do not recommend this company. Understand that no negative comments can be posted if a settlement with Hire a Helper was made. I opted to not accept their $300 settlement as it doesn't make dent in how much money it has cost me to fix my home and replace the refrigerator.

The team from Xtra Affordable Moves arrived on time with the requested tools and equipment. They were personable, friendly, efficient and completed the job in less time than expected. I especially appreciated that were respectful and careful with my items and even made on-the-spot changes with a positive/can-do attitude! I highly recommend them!
