I made a reservation at 4-5pm. The workers were extremely late, and did not get there until 6:45pm. They claimed that they were stuck in traffic. I could tell the minute I saw them that they were done for the day and did not want to work anymore. They kept taking cigarette breaks and one of them Davis was literally sitting in the truck half of the time. When I asked the other guy about it, his answer was I don't know you have to go check with him. I was trying to be sympathetic and understanding and did not really care they were loading one picture frame at a time and taking their sweet time. I had a couple of bags/boxes left in my apartment and I was helping them at the same time and trying to move stuff with them, but I did not hire them so I end up moving half of my stuff. When the couple of boxes were left, they literally told me "alright, you got this?" and they were waiting in the truck while I had two bags in my hand, a floor lamp and my cat and Davis even had the nerves to ask me to bring his jacket back with me because he left it in my apartment. We go to the other apartment and when we get there. the other gentleman was literally sitting in the truck for about 20minutes until I went up to him and asked him if everything is ok and whether he is going to continue to work. I go upstairs to check on my roommate and they were taking forever to bring the stuff upstairs. I honestly carried and loaded more stuff than they did. I understand they were tired and they wake up and go to work fairly early, but at the same time i paid to get this job done. around 9:30 , they come upstairs claiming that they can not bring the couch or the bookcase upstairs. I was literally begging them, as I am a student and had school the next day and I really did not want to leave my stuff in the lobby or on the street. they pretend to call their boss, but nobody picks up. I called Ivy, which is the contact person that your company gave me and I beg her to talk to them. I have never felt so humiliated in my life ever! she hung up and says that she is gonna call her boss. 10 minutes later she calls me asking to talk to them. I give them the phone, they walk out with it for about 20 minutes. In the meantime, students that live in the same building, who saw me and my other roommate trying to move the couch felt bad for us and were trying to help us. However, Davis comes back and helped me and my roommate carry the couch up the sixth floor and the other guy says "****, I'm not trying to carry this **** couch up no steps" I specifically put in the order that one of the largest items that i had was my couch and thats what I needed help with! not the bags, not the litter box and small things. On top of that they smash my brand new "had it only for 2months" into pieces. after that, my bookcase was still in the truck and the other guy "not Davis" just refuse to get out of the truck and said that he would drive off with it. i asked him, so you are gonna take my bookcase? He literally jumps out of the truck and throw my bookcase out of the truck! I was in a complete shock! I have never dealt with someone like that ever before. not only they did not provide me with good service, they did not finish the job and they were cursing at me! then they wanted me to pay them form an extra tow hours, I asked for what? for not finishing the job, breaking my stuff, or sitting there arguing with me for half an hour while their boss (Ivy) was on the phone. If anything, I should be reimbursed for all the stuff they broke! the bookcase, the dresser, two floor lamps and even a painting. How could two men that load and unload stuff for a living could not handle carrying a very small, but rather an expensive painting? I have pictures of the damaged items and I can even send it, if you like. I have used your service before, when I moved in May and the guys back then were great! they did not even let me lift a straw and they took care of everything. They also finished the job on time! if anything, I had less stuff than the first time I moved because my apartment got broken into.

Raymond Moving showed up at 0920. There was no phone call in those 1 hour and 20 minutes which led to some degree of uncertainty, which is always uncomfortable on moving day. I finally called at 8:20 & 8:45 to make sure they were on the way. Eva was apologetic and helpful and John reported road construction was holding them up. The workers worked fast, and were organized and neat. I was impressed with the effort they put in to ensuing everything was packed well and in the right place. However, lateness was my biggest issue and could have been avoided with a few phone calls explaining the situation. I would recommend them, but be sure you plan ahead for some lateness issues.

These (Colt and Davis) were great. They were very polite and easy to work with. They were a little bit late but they let me know they were stuck in traffic. They finished the job in minimal amount of time. Overall it was a very pleasant and professional experience. I would hire these guys again in a hearbeat.

When I booked this service, I almost immediately got an email confirmation telling me that there would be an additional $50 fee because I have 3 levels. I contacted hire-a-helper and they contacted the movers, and confirmed that there would be no additional fee.

I used them on a Saturday on Labor Day weekend, scheduled to arrive between 9-10am. In my conversations with the office person, Eva, she said "see you at 9" each time. On the move day at 7:30am I got an email saying it would be 10am because of where they were coming from. They didn't show up until 10:45am. The guys worked hard, and were pleasant. We used 1 additional hour, and they were fine with staying.

However, when I called to release payment around 4:45pm, the payment release line asked me to leave a message and someone would get back to me (because I needed to add time). I left the mesasge, and then I was busy unpacking and didn't think much about it, and nobody from hire a helper called me back - so around 8:15pm I started getting emails & text messages from the Eva asking why I never released payment. I went back and forth with her probably 10-15 times, having her tell me I was doing it wrong, etc. I called hire a helper and left another message, still no call back.

The following morning I had more texts/emails/phone calls from Eva, and I called hire a helper AGAIN, and left a very irritated message. Finally I had someone call me back around 12pm and I was able to release payment. (apparently the office had been closed at the times I called).

Once I released payment, Eva emailed me and called me a total of about 2-3 times reminding me to leave a review.

To recap, they tried to charge extra fees, they were late, and the office people harass you a little. But the guys worked their butts off.
