Hire A Helper sent a company called Labor Now. They showed up on time, but sent 2 young men who did not have the experience or strength to move furniture. They scratched door ways and walls, left big gouges in my entry way walls and scratched multiple pieces of furniture. They ruined a leather couch by dragging it through doorways. They too the cover off of a brand new dresser before they moved and the scratched the top. I called twice to ask them to send other people and they wouldn't. I requested the process to file a claim and they sent me the forms. Shortly there after I was hospitalized. I called to see if they would still help me as the insurance claim form had a 10 day limit when I went to fill it out. I called to see if they would extend the claims deadline (which I believe is too short for people who are in the process of moving). No one ever returned my calls. I guess it's ok for someone to ruin your furniture and your house not offer to repair or replace it. These were things that were not damaged in shipping only in unloading the POD The boys they sent argued amongst each other on the right way to do the job, consistently used foul language. On top of that they showed up without a dolly or any ropes to help them move things. When I called and ask them about it they said theirs had a flat tire. REALLY. I would never use either company again. Their lack of respect and response to the request of a senior citizen are appalling. it took the men on the other end 2.5 hours to load it up and the boys her 4.5 hours. Maybe they should subtract the time they were on their phones.

To start off, a day before my service was scheduled for, I was called and asked if we could change the time of my move (to 8 hours before I had scheduled them) because the mover himself was supposed to move. When I said no and asked if it was going to be a problem, they made a point to say I was the priority (which I didn't quite feel I was at this point) and they would be there when I needed them there. I told them over the phone I could potentially have them there 30mins earlier than planned and that I would let them know when I picked up my Uhaul. While I was in the middle of picking up my Uhual, they call me telling me they are at my apartment. The service was fine, the guys moved my equipment quickly and effectively, they kind of goofed around at times but were nice. I had furniture blankets for them to pack up the Uhaul as well as gave them some of my car availability. 15 minutes into the drive, there was a loud crash in the back (which was a small box of my tools that they left on the top of my furniture which of course fell off with some movement). Upon arriving at my destination, I opened up the Uhaul to find boxes all over the place, absolutely no organization, some denting in other boxes, as well as my furniture a little bit torn up. My entertainment center has scratches on it (showing that the furniture blankets I supplied them with were not used) as well as my couch had some rips on it along the bottom and one of the cushions was snagged. As much as I was grateful for there help and to not have to lift my furniture, but I would've loved to have a better job done and to have them be more professional.

Let me preface this by saying, although they did a good job, it was not ideal and it was very stressful for me. The owner called me a few minutes past the time they were scheduled to arrive to tell me they were a man short. He had one mover on the way (about 20 min out) and he was trying to find a second mover. The first mover finally did show over an hour after the initial arrival time. He was with his wife and two young children. I guess he had gotten the owner to agree to let his wife help him with the move, since they couldn't get a second mover to come. He did not have any plastic wrap, which was one of the reasons I choose this mover over others ( I guess maybe the no show guy was responsible for that). The mover and his wife were very nice and they worked as fast as they could, given the circumstances. However, the 2 children were constantly underfoot, they had toys scattered everywhere, including in the path of the moving, also using them on my furniture sometimes. I was worried about them wandering into my apt and opening the door to the room where my cats were put away. The mover had to stop constantly to corral or attend to the kids. In the end, it took about 2 hours to pack a 2 bed room apt into a POD, which is fine. because I had reserved 3 hours to make sure there was time. However, the POD pick up was nearly missed because of the movers' lateness. Thankfully, POD agreed to wait an extra 45 min. I understand things in life happen and they did the best they could under the circumstances, but I was very stressed and anxious throughout the whole process and I don't know that I would use this particular company again. I did get a small discount from hire a helper for the lateness, and the movers did eventually agree to refund me a half hour or the time they did not work, but I would still hesitate to use them again.

The movers didn't show up at all. After waiting 3 hours, I called Hire a Helper & they contacted them & called me back. The movers claimed they had been to my house on time or early and rang the doorbell but no one answered. They said they waited around a half hour, then finally left. This was complete BS because I was in & out of my house all morning moving boxes, etc. I was ready & expecting them to show up on time.
They finally showed up 4 hours late & at the end of the job, Calvin told me if I paid in cash, it would cost me less & he just wanted to help me out. But come to find out, he collected on both ends; cash from me AND I was also charged thru Hire a Helper. Ugh. So ridiculous but i will say Hire a Helper was very helpful in correcting these charges for me.

Arrived late, needed help on how to load the trailer, demanded a tip, dresser was damaged and one kept complaining that he had better things to do .
This is a rare happening in our company, and we have a zero tolerance for this level of unprofessionalism.
We take these matters very serious here at Labor Now Inc and have taken the necessary and appropriate adminstrative action to insure this will never happen again.
We thank you for your feed back on this manner and our claims department is in communication with you as we speak for reimbursement on your damaged dressor.

The two movers that helped us unload our trailer were really nice guys and each showed up separately one on time the other a bit late. They were not prepared with the equipment necessary to unload the trailer and had to go rent a hand truck to get stared. They worked hard and unfortunately did cause some damage to our tv console. I was in touch with the owner who listened to the details of the mishap and have not heard back from him again. This is problematic.

They did a great job! I was able to hire them on short notice and they worked hard to get the truck unloaded quickly and did a great job of reassembling the furniture in my new home. Would definitely recommend.

These guys are FANTASTIC! Not only did they show up promptly on time, they were courteous and very professional. They worked absolute magic getting our entire home into a 10X15' storage space and we even had space to spare! Absolutely THE BEST we have ever used.
