What a lifesaver using Hire A Helper. The two young men that came were on time, polite, friendly and did an outstanding job pack up my PODS. I wish I would have used them to pack our first POD. They amazed me on how well they packed the POD making sure to pack all the things that were the most important to me and then some. Leaving no wasted space. I would definitely use them again.

I am giving 4 stars because I had issues but they were actually not to do with Hire A Helper the company but the company that took the job originally. The second company Pete's were great and did a really good job. I contacted Hire A Helper and they did everything possible to rectify the problems with the first company. Nick was very helpful and responsive to my issues.

The two young men who actually performed the labor were superb. They were on time, polite, careful with our property and very efficient. They are the primary reason that I listed 4 stars. There were two incidents by the owner that I found unsettling. First, he contacted me on the phone in an effort to have me cancel the service that I had retained to load our truck at our old home. I very politely rebuffed that request but he was somewhat insistent. I find this very unprofessional. The second was that he contacted me following the use of his employees' labor to release his funds despite the fact that I had done so in the presence of his employees. Moving is stressful enough especially when you are in your 60s and disabled. His drama was not appreciated.

I have to say after the first experience I had with a vendor on hire a helper I was hesitant to use the service again. This time we chose to go with Pete's, the team showed up on time and worked hard all day. They were very nice and got the job done in half the time I expected. I would hire them again for future jobs.

It's hard to know a good mover who packs your truck until you get to the other end and unload it. We had some damage to furniture items, including bedframes and chairs, which could have been prevented. The loaders only wrapped a few items even though plenty of moving blankets and plastic wrap were provided. They also used an ikea table to bear the load of several boxes of books so it was bowed by the time we arrived. It's only $30 to replace the top, but there wasn't really a point of taking something 2,000 miles if it was going to be garbage when we got to the other end. It just seemed that they didn't really have a good sense of how to load a truck strategically.
The movers were on time and friendly guys. They worked hard. But they needed more direction and experience.

Two gentlemen arrived on time and were very polite and accommodating. I have no problem recommending this organization for assistance to move. I would certainly use them again.

We were in a bind after our first mover called the day before our move and said he couldn't keep the appointment.
Pete took our reservation at 5pm the day before and was able to have movers out by 9am the next day.

I was happy with the professional approach I received from Pete. There was some confusion about the starting point, and that coupled with bad weather made for a late start, but no big deal. We just started the clock running from the time they got there.
I would certainly recommend Pete's Moving, along with his staff.

Pete's moving services were great! They called me to confirm my moving date and called 30 mins prior to their arrival to let me know they were on their way. Pete and his helper, Clyde, worked hard the entire time and got our moving truck unloaded in no time. They were very careful with all of our things and were very friendly.
