Lynn and his movers showed up on time at the site for the move. Upon arrival they started very strong and were able to load everything on the truck in a reasonable time, move it to our new house, and unload the furniture and boxes reasonably well. The workers were fantastic! Great group of guys. So why the very low rating? Here is why:
Lynn accepted the move from Hire a Helper at a set rate. He then showed up at the house about 1 week later to look over the job and stated he needed more money than the offer online. I initially agreed to this. Then, on the day of the move, he showed up and gave an even higher price then threatened to leave the job undone if we did not cater to his demands. He then told me I would have to refund any money that Hire A Helper would take as a processing fee. He insulted my wife on several occasions. He actually threatened my wife as well as stated he would damage my property unless I paid him extra.
At this point I contacted Hire A Helper and they reached an agreement with Lynn. He became irate and was yelling and screaming at my wife. Following this he then attempted to contact me again demanding more money and attempted extortion. Finally, he was asked to leave and never contact me or my family again.
I would never recommend this moving comapny to ANYONE!! In addition, I am letting all of my friends and neighbors know about him and his extremely unprofessional behavior.
Reading your reply and unfortunately there is just no way this had taken place. We are very professional and we know our limitations. We would never threaten a customer and we have a feeling you took a lot of our interaction out of context. We apologize you feel the way you do but wish you the best.
