Labor Ready is a legitimate, fully licensed and insured business that can get you the people you need when you need them! All of our employees go through a rigorous screening process that includes a Drug Test, Sex Offender Registry Check, a National Background Check and Safety Training. So, unlike hiring people from the street o…read morer other internet postings Labor Ready provides peace of mind knowing that all of our employees have been checked so you do not end up having undesirable people coming into your home. Also, since Labor Ready is a licensed labor contractor with the State of Colorado we, by law, have to cover all Workman’s Compensation Insurance for all of our employees. What does this mean to you? This means you do not have to worry about some stranger trying to sue YOU claiming that they were injured while performing work for you. (All licenses and insurance policies can be viewed in person anytime by stopping by our office.) Labor Ready pays all payroll taxes, insurance, and pay to the employees. Additionally all employees are run through The Department of Homeland Security and The Social Security Administration to insure legal status before we will ever consider assigning them to any of our clients. (No illegal or wanted employees are ever assigned to any Labor Ready assignment.)

Disclaimer: Labor Ready is not a moving, landscape, construction, storage, etc. company. We are a licensed contract labor company. This basically means we supply clients with the people to perform whatever tasks they need done. We do not supply equipment, trucks, tools, or supervision. Our people are under the client’s direct supervision and they will perform as instructed by the client within safety guidelines. It will be the client’s responsibility to schedule any breaks or lunch periods as necessary to meet local and federal guidelines. (Basic rule of thumb is 15 minute break after 2 hours of work and a 30 minute lunch after 4 hrs.) Should there be any issues Labor Ready will correct those issues right away. Up to, but not limited to, providing different employees to complete a paid assignment.

As for health… We are not doctors and therefore can not ascertain health, but from what I understand the assignment was completed. The guys from Labor Ready Inc. showed up on time and were sitting in the yard smoking while I was doing some small chores. They were not prepared at all for the job at hand. My last move, of the same stuff, took 2 guys 45 minutes, unsupervised, and they were pitch-perfect. These guys took two and a half hours. These guys took 5…read more (five) breaks, dropped and broke a box and treated our stuff roughly. They also didn't have any real order to how they packed our crate, nor did they seem to understand the instructions I gave them. Next time I'll hire experienced movers.

Once again I only wish customers would read our posting at the time of placing the order. It states "Should there be any issues Labor Ready will correct those issues right away up to, but not limited to, providing different employees to complete a paid assignment." If you would have notified us while the job was in progress we could have resolved the issue by simply sending better suited individuals rather than finding out several days later here that there was a problem.

I hired 4 workers for 5 hours of backbreaking work of hauling heavy demolition lumber up a steep hill. All four worked well, and 2 worked especially hard. I was impressed by their effort. More importantly though, I know that these guys were only making around minimum wage (less than $8/hour) and the service cost me around $20 p…read moreer person per hour. Although the service provided transportation to and from my house (an hour away from their office) and covered workers comp for them in case somebody was injured, it still seems like a lot of overhead. Although Labor Ready provided a great service, I would like to see most of the $$ that I paid end up in the hands of these very hard working guys. Its a shame that so much of the $$ would get spent on the insurance overhead instead on the workers who obviously needed it. Just another reason for major health-care reform.

It was evident though that the two gentlemen weren't professional "loaders", needing to be instructed on several occasions not to place heavy boxes on the bottom of the couch (particularly the younger of the two). I'm concerned that some items may have been damaged in the loading, however won't know for sure until I unpack in several months. I would not use them again.

I ask the helpers to work under the bleachers and they refused to attach wire ties as instructed. They did help us carry out the banners. I told them that I did not need them, they said they had a 4 hr min. so they stood around until 11 am. and left. Not real impressed. I had to do all the work under the bleachers myself.

Hire a Helper you are a rip off. You charged us $385 for two guys for 8 hours they only worked seven hours. The guys only got paid for seven hours. Although I can not speak for Hire A Helper I can speak for Labor Ready as we supplied the people you ordered through Hire A Helper. Not sure where you are getting your information from, but our men were paid the 8 hours that you paid for and they are NOT paid $7.36 per hour as Minimum wage would dictate in the state of Colorado. Although you seemed displeased with Hire A Helper you made no mention of Labor Ready's service to you. I hope our men completed the assignment without issue.

Wow! I don't know where to begin. First I (Robert) am not the owner. We are a publicly traded company w/ over 600 offices nation wide. We have never serviced a Kelly Grose thru Hire A Helper because the job was canceled by Kelly Grose the day before. In fact per confirmation from Hire A Helper the job was canceled w/ hire a helper 20 minutes after it was placed. Almost sounds like an order was placed and canceled just to leave a bad comment. As for being a liar.? I have never spoken to Kelly.

Labor Ready was easy to deal with. However the laborers provided were a poor match for our job request. We needed assistance loading heavy and awkward objects into a limited sized UHaul truck. Our people are safety trained to not necessarily rush to complete a job but rather to complete the assignment without injury to them or damage to your property. We hired 4 guys hoping to at least get two larger guys that could handle the heavier items. …read more We had multiple items that were damaged (chipped dining chairs, huge chunk out of our nightstand, chips along roll top desk, damage at the home we moved from (chunk taken off baseboard) as well as minor damage at our new home (chip in the doorway frame)). Again, I hate to only blame the movers as the company should send at least 2 guys capable of moving heavier items. The movers were very nice and helpful, just not physically fit to do the job. They also made multiple commits regarding not having the experience to move furniture as nice and heavy as what we had. Lastly, the movers should have some kind of training where they at least know to cover furniture with blankets. We provided more than enough blankets, yet they were not used and we had to ask multiple times for items to be covered (hence the damaged furniture). Lindsay, I wish this was not the first we are hearing of this. We would prefer to know of issues such as the damage you mention and men not being strong enough while the job is going on rather than finding out here 3 weeks later. Although moving an entire household from one house to another in the dark does lend it self to unwanted challenges we would have replaced or even added people to complete a paid assignment if we had only been made aware. I am glad the job was ultimately completed.

Request was made noting need to unload an 18ft moving truck. Two movers were sent, neither of which seemed physically fit for the job. It took them as long to unload the truck as it took me to load it by myself. They required constant supervision in order to prevent excessively long trips from the truck to the apartment.

Two of the four people claimed they knew what movers do. After the unloading experience where one of my bikes was dropped off the back of the truck to the end where they were arguing over who was supposed to pay them, this had to be one of the worst crews ever assembled. The guy who did it stated that maybe they should have wrapped the railings. I realize that this was a last minute call when Strongarm never showed up for their appointment, but this was not a professional moving team. I called Labor Ready at first to notify them of the lack of experience of their crew and they told me to identify the ones I wanted to get rid of and they would send replacements. I did not believe I would get anyone better than I had.

I received 2 people to help unload my moving truck. They showed up almost a half an hour late and one person was on his cell phone every 5 minutes. One person was good and the other was horrible. Also I didn't know in the 2-3 hours they were there, I was supposed to pay for them to sit and eat lunch. Every item they had to take up or down stairs, they would stop and take a 5 minute break. I ended up doing half of the work and just threw everything in my garage to get them out of there. Now I have a garage of stuff to deal with because I could not rely on the out of shape help to complete what I expected. I would not recommended these people in the future.

The only positive is that they were available at the last minute when Strong Arm Moving no-showed. We hired four people for 8 hours (the upper recommendation for our size house - 3 bedrooms). Two of the guys were acceptable but the other two just got in the way when they weren't damaging our furniture. My husband and I had to …read morework several hours even after the movers left to go back to the old house and finish loading and unloading and had to help load and unload even while they were here. We also had to move items taken to the wrong room or just dropped wherever (dressers and nightstands placed facing the wall - had to move furniture back out of the room just to be able to rearrange). Two dressers were dropped - one dresser went down a flight of stairs (some drawers won't open now) and did significant damage to the floor and walls of our old house. Our high efficiency washer was scuffed significantly on one side . Multiple other smaller items were damaged and several walls now have scuffs or holes in our brand new house. It would have been cheaper to hire full service movers than deal with all the damage and hassle.
