This was the unloading side of our move. The movers were on time, very careful with our things, worked hard, and did a great job. The only reason I've withheld a 5th star was that there was some confusion or misleading communication about who would be doing the work.
We hired The Works to both load and unload our truck, and owner John and his employee Chris did an amazing job of loading the truck in the pouring rain (see my other review). At that time John was very clear that he and Chris would be the same people who would be helping us unload 2 days later, which I thought was great since they were such professionals. The night before the unload job John called to confirm, and again said that he would be seeing me the next day. But on the actual day of the job, 2 different employees showed up. Instead of the experienced John and Chris, we got 2 inexperienced young men (late teens or early 20s). I was actually momentarily worried that we were being scammed somehow, but I called John and confirmed that he had sent other workers.
It wasn't a problem at all--unloading a truck is much easier than loading it, so I understand why The Works might use their more experienced staff on the loading side. And the workers were very careful not to damage our things, did an amazing job of not scraping doorways AT ALL, and were friendly and respectful. I would recommend them highly, and the price was extremely reasonable. But it would have been nice to get a call from the owner letting me know that plans had changed, rather than leaving me to be surprised and confused.

We hired The Works for 3 hours to help load our 3+ bedroom house into our moving truck. The owner John and his employee Chris were even better than expected. John was very matter-of-fact and professional; Chris was friendly and talkative. Both were obviously experienced and took their jobs seriously. They arrived right on time and walked through the house to see all the boxes and furniture to plan out what order to load in. From that point they took complete charge of the loading process, fitting everything together carefully and expertly. We happened to be moving on one of the rainiest days of the year, and John and Chris were very careful to wipe down the furniture in the truck so it wouldn't suffer any water damage. I had expected that my husband and I would be helping to load the truck, but they were so on top of things that we ended up spending the time boxing the last few items and cleaning up the house. They worked extremely hard without a break for the entire 3 hours, in the pouring rain, and managed to get the whole job done. Everything was so well packed that nothing shifted in transit. Very impressive, and very reasonably priced! We'd definitely use them again.

There was a slight misunderstanding on the date of our move as I changed the original date booked. My fault. However, John and his crew made it all work out without too much stress on my part. They were late for the said job due to the misunderstanding but John showed up with twice the # of people I had booked for. All of them came prepared and were ready to get the job done. They worked fast and hard. Not one scratch or dent on any of the furniture. They were very efficient and competent. They moved so fast that they finished unloading 2 pods in less than half the time. Very nice folks. I will definitely use them again. To all of you who have any reservations about hiring The Works Services, I say not to worry. John and Chris will take care of you and your furniture!!

I couldn't have survived this move without my helpers John and Chris. They worked very hard and efficiently and kept a pleasant attitude the whole time. I look forward to working with them again at the other end of this move.

John and Chris were on time and prepared to unload our pod. They did a superb job unloading and placing everything just where I wanted it, even the very heavy pieces. They actually finished the job ahead of schedule, which was fine with us. We would definitely use them again.

I live in South New Mexico and had 2 storage units in Kent, WA. 1 was a 10X15 the other a 10X20. My move was a variety of things from: heavy tools, an antique Oak Dresser with mirror, 1 4'X4' painting and 3 other smaller oil paintings 2 project motor cycles and parts, lots of box of various sizes and weights. I also had a few things that are hard to pack, things like wheel borrow, 2 step ladders. To tell you the truth, I did not think all this stuff would in 1 24' Box Truck and was planning on renting another truck.
I hired Mr John OneFeather and one of his helpers and I am glad I did. They were on time and worked very hard with loading the truck. I hired them for 8 hrs and the were done in 7 hes and even cleaned the storage units. Best part of all they got all my things to fit in 1, 24' box truck. I had talked with John on the phone before I flew to Seattle, I asked if he was willing to work 10 hrs if needed to load. He said YES.
I drove 2000+ miles home and unloaded and not one thing was damaged. YES I would hired John again in a heartbeat. Finding workers like this today is a HARD to do. You will definitely get your monies worth hiring John....... .
