I don't know what type of science is behind their "scientific loading method," but it must involve time travel, since a job that took the two guys who moved us in less than an hour didn't remotely get done in that time, despite an elevator. They were nice people, but I wouldn't hire them again.

To start they were close to four hours late and only showed up when I threatened to call HireAHelper for a new service. After all of my issues with the Moving Guides they offered to refund part of my fee and said that the check would arrive within a couple weeks. After two weeks no check, so I called to ask what had happened and they said they lost my address so I gave it to them and a week later no check so I called back to see if they had mailed it. Again a week later no check so I called back to ask where it was and after threatening to report them to the Better Business Bureau they said I would have a check within the week. Finally, two days later I had a check. I did get service but only after much hassle and headache. I will never use them again and would never recommend them to anyone unless they like drama and hassle.

They also didn't call to let me know they weren't showing up. When …read moretheir scheduled arrival time had passed, I called their contact number, which was apparently the proprietor's residence. It was 8:30 a.m. or so on a weekend, so he was fast asleep when I called and I had to wake him up. He had no idea what was going on or where his movers were. I called again at 9 and he said their car had broken down. I asked for their contact info and he declined to give it but said the movers would contact me. When they hadn't contacted me by 9:30 or so, I called again, but he just stopped taking my calls. Finally I called HireAHelper and asked them to find me another mover, which they did. So my experience with The Moving Guides was thoroughly awful. It wasn't JUST that they didn't show up; I guess that if they had some kind of emergency they couldn't help it. It's that they didn't bother to let me know what was going on, so that I spent hours sitting in a packed apartment waiting for them, not knowing what to do, and not able to reach them--and wondering what I was going to do if they didn't show. Thankfully, I had a very good experience with A&A Moving, the movers who stepped in to cover this job. I also had a great experience with Katy, the HireAHelper lady who rescued me from the mess that The Moving Guides made by not showing up, and found me another mover in time to move. They took reasonable breathers on a hot day and seemed to work together relatively well. There was definitely a senior guy and a junior guy and that seemed to help. The took good care of my furniture and I didn't have any problems.

The thing is they weren't up front about it, only negative thing that occurred everything else went great. I would use the Moving Guides again, no doubt about it. With one caveat, that if anything happens, don't sweat it, just let us know.

Having been in the Military and moved many times, I would not consider them "professional movers". The pair of them did not seem to know how to negotiate difficult requirements such as multiple flights of stairs with tight corners. They "dinged and scratched" our freshly painted walls, ceilings and furniture at least a dozen times. They were in too much of a hurry and did not think through how they were going to negotiate our stairs. One of the movers was trying to be careful....the other one was was not. They frequently got irritated with each other. At one point, they decided to lift our two box springs and bed frame over our deck railing and through our dining room. The idea was good, but you don't drag cherry furniture over a railing "finished side down" and scratch it up. This should be common sense. My suggestion would be to send an experienced mover with a novice mover to avoid such instances.
