They were running behind but he called to let me know the adjusted time and arrived on time for the new time given. I hired two workers for 6 hours but didn't use all of the time. Unbelievable job. What I took 6 hours to load, they unloaded in 45 minutes in a professional manner. They recognized that I paid for 2 hours, so they insisted (not offered, they INSISTED) on staying at least another hour to help put furniture together and move it around. John and his assistant arrived on time, were friendly and polite and got right to work. They knocked that part of the job out in record time then I turned them loose on my shed. It was stuffed full of boxes and all sorts of things I had forgotten about. They moved the boxes to the patio, swept the shed, hung up my yard tools and moved items for the junk yard out of the way for me. They also helped sort through some of the 'stuff' I had accumulated over the years. I loved how fast John and his buddy (cannot remember his name) worked, how considerate they were and their willingness to do anything I could think of. As a single female, I relied on my hireahelper.com pro to move the contents of a three bedroom home into storage. I have quite a few large, heavy pieces that I couldn't possibly move on my own. Only using two men instead of the three I'd ordered and paid for - John volunteered to call and reduce the fee on hireahelper.com. When I called once the job was completed the fee was changed. I would use them again and recommend them to friends and family. OHHH - they also collected all of my donations that I would have had to get rid of since no other non-profit was able to pick up the items for weeks. THANKS!

I was in a pinch and needed help moving. I found the rates to be reasonable so I decided to book with John Normandin. When he called me the day prior to coordinate the job he sounded professional and like he knew what he was doing. I told him that there would be two guys to help, and that we would try to have a lot of the pre…read morep work done before he got there. He told me not to worry about taking the drawers out of the dressers and that he would shrink wrap them so the drawers didn't come open. This never happened. Upon arrival he was obviously annoyed that my fiance's friend was running a little late due to a family emergency the night before. He proceeded to make comments that insulted my fiance's strength and capability of moving heavy items. When my fiance's friend arrived in time to assist with unloading the truck, he made several comments about how he "arrived just in time", and he was "lazy" because he slept till 10:00 am. (He had been at the emergency room with his wife till 3:00 a.m.). He also at one point told our friend in a very condesending manner to " be sure not to strain a musscle". I found this to be rude, insulting, and very unprofessional. On antoher note, he used an applaince dolly to move my refridgerator but did not strap it on. When he pulled it out of the house I was vacating it bounced pretty hard down the step, and now my compressor is not working, and I am having to buy a new refridgerator.
In closing, I would like to say that I think the concept of this company is brilliant. However, I do feel that the people being sent out should not be condesending to the clients, and should take more care and not skip steps when moving people belongings. Not only did I have to pay the $144.00 for his hour and a half of help, but now I am looking at having to spend $1100 to replace my refridgerator. I am honestly not sure if I would refer this company to anyone, and I know for sure I would NOT even think about recomending Mr. Normandin. I

When only one helper is requested we rely on the customer to supply adequate and capable assistance to complete the job when this is not provided it makes it very difficult to complete the job safely and properly. The dressers were already taped shut to secure them that is the same job that the shrink wrap would have done resecuring them would have wasted time, blankets were used to protect from damage. The 2 fridges were unhooked when we arrived no way to know if they worked in the first place.

I apologize for you not being satisfied with our service but we always bring our own equipment and intend to use it on every job. Im not quite sure what stuff you had to make us use but we did use the equipment that we brought. I thought that was what we were there to do, (move what we were asked to). Not every client wants us to help with everything maybe you were the exception but considering the layout of your housing complex there is only so much that could have been done with limited time

The guy's I used were just okay. I don't have rave reviews for the company I used here in AZ. He could have been better prepared. He forgot to bring tools with him to reconnect my bed and such. They got me moved into my home but that's about it.

WE have tools on every job which are used to assemble anything that we are asked to.. The only reason something wouldnt have been put together was because we were told it wasnt necessary. Im sorry we didnt meet you expectations, in the future if there is something you would like us to complete for you please make sure you tell the guys before they leave, they are there to help.

These gentleman were on time and very professional. We had more than we could fit in our truck and they did everything possible to utilize every inch of space. Sadly we had to part with some items and they offered to haul them off and donate them for us!
The only thing I can fault is that we did have blankets to protect furnit…read moreure and they did not utilize them -resulting in some scratched and damaged furniture .

The guys John sent were absolutely wonderful. I called John at the last minute to unload a 28 ft ABF trailer and he managed to put together a crew of three who was able to unload the entire thing in under 3 hours. I was very pleased with Rent-A-Friend's services. I recently moved into a gated community that had very restrictive CCR's. I was using ABF U-Pack moving services and typically they drop the trailer and then pick it up the next day. I was told by the property manager that my ABF trailer would be towed if it was not picked up o…read moren the same day of delivery.
John at Rent-A-Friend was very accomodating and concerned about my situation. He worked very hard to get the trailer unpacked and ready for pick-up. Thanks to his personalized attention, it all worked out and ABF returned to pick up the trailer on the same day. Thanks, John!
