This was my fourth time using HireAHelper, and by far the worst experience. First, I hired them for two hours and they were there for seven but never let me know that it was going to take longer or how long they thought it would take. There was zero communication about how long they thought this move would take and how far over the time they were going to go.
But that really wasn’t the biggest problem when I went back to the original house that they were supposed to have moved the furniture from the whole third floor still had furniture that they never moved and they had already left
They basically took their time and did only what they wanted and left the things that they didn’t want to do. I understand it’s a lot to move things from three stories. That’s why I hired movers, to not do what you were hired to do baffles me. The lack of communication will serve as a reminder to never us this company again.

Generally good service but there were issues that are really difficult to overlook. We were moving from a relatively empty 2 BR rental to a 1 BR within the same property.
Bottom line: The crew moved very leisurely and dragged a ~3 hour move to 5 hours. The crew only had our move scheduled for the day and were incentivized to move slowly. We were charged over $350 extra because of their pace. Details below:
- Scheduled 2 movers for 2 hours and a small truck (10'-14') to arrive between 9-10 AM.
- The day prior the office called for confirmation and requested to arrive between 7-8 AM instead. We agreed to be accommodating to their schedule, perhaps they had another move scheduled in the afternoon (they didn't).
- Day of, they arrived on time with a massive 30' truck with lift. We did not think much of it at the time. Afterall, they could be moving heavy items.
- This is where we began to grow concerned. We watched the movers operate the truck lift with 1 or 2 items for the next THREE hours. 1 office chair, 2 boxes, 2 lawn chairs, 1 shelf, 1 end table, ad nauseum. This time really adds up.
- They then spent nearly an hour actually packing and securing the truck. Our belongings were sitting outside as they discussed and slowly rearranged the oversized truck.
- Seeing their loading pace, my wife and I needed to help them unload or they’d be here all day. We each took multiple trips from the truck while they continued at their previous pace. We “lapped” them over and over until only the bulky items remained which they completed in another hour or so.
We’ve moved a number of times and believe a move of this size should have taken 3 hours +/-. The crew’s pace was overwhelmingly slow and resulted in nearly double the cost.

What can a customer expect on moving day if they hire you?
Our customers can expect a well prepared crew with all the materials needed for their move. They can also expect to be stress free during their move because of how reliable our movers are.
How should a customer prepare for moving day?
Customers should prepare for the day of the move depending on what services they get/want. We reccomend that clients remove clothing from drawers, wardrobes, etc, to make the items less heavy for our movers. Always label your boxes. We also recommend to speak with our project manager about materials needed for the job to have them ready for the day of the move. Lastly, feel free to ask questions with our project manager about any concerns to be informed on what to do the day of the move.

What's your favorite part about being a mover?
Our favorite part of being a mover is seeing the relief on our clients face after getting the job done. We love being able to make our clients move stress free as much as possible.
What training do you provide your crew members?
We provide all of our employees with a one month training program at our head quarters to help them gain experience by teaching them good communication skills, how to pack fragile items into boxes, move heavy items using the proper equipment, stack the trucks or containers using every inch of space, etc.
