We hired two men to load our 2 bedroom apartment into a moving truck. I called 10 minutes after our scheduled time and the mover answered. He said he had two flat tires and would be late. He later called to say he was on the way; however, they arrived 2 hours and 30 minutes later than scheduled. One mover was clearly more experienced than the other, and all in all, I think they could have worked faster. We found two damaged furniture items when we arrived at our destination. I would not recommend these movers.

Family Movers are the least professional workers you could hope for in your move within or outside the Baltimore/DC metro area. From the AOL e-mail address to the gross misspellings on their advertisment, it should have been obvious to me from the start. They were almost an hour late yet expected to be paid for that hour, and have tried to scam me out of several thousand more dollars in offering to move our stuff across the country for what was supposedly and originally a cheaper figure than what we were paying. The original contract that he wanted me to sign had a cute little clause entitled "Out of Pocket Expenses" that explicity stated the client had to pay any amount of money for any reason over the fee upon which we had agreed.
They were observed getting high on marijuana during loading and subsequently got drunk before unloading. Everything I did for the workers by offering food and gatorade was unappreciated, as he kept asking for more and more money for this or that logistical aspect of the move. Needless to say, our possessions were extensively damaged and we will have to file insurance claims and potentially open a civil suit against David Brown DBA Family Movers, Inc.
Avoid Family Movers at all cost; there are plenty of other options.

Family Movers is an awesome company. The helpers were professional, courteous, personable, and quick working. They were on time, and prepared for the job. I was impressed by the efficiency that was demonstrated during the unloading of our household goods.The respect that was shown towards my home, and personal property was incredible. My sister and I are cleaning out my mothers home after she passed away. We discovered it was a bigger job than we had anticipated. Not being from the area I turned to Google and found Hire a Helper website. I chose Family Movers after I read some of the favorable reviews. I booked the job and held my breath.
I confirmed with David Brown from Family Movers a few days before the job. He called again the day before to firm up the time. He called the day of the job to let us know he was on his way.
David Brown and Ryan showed up when they said they would. After a short explanation by me of what I wanted them to do they got right to work. They were fabulous! They worked hard, and quickly. They were extremely polite and friendly. They never complained. They worked ever second of the four hours they were here and got everything completed that we needed done. They handled the awkward heavy stuff like pros. Not one nick or scratch in the walls. I would most definitely use Family Movers again and I will recommend Family Movers and Hire AHelper to my friends and family in the area. Well done guys! Thank you!!

They were on-time and worked hard for the four hours I contracted them. They were careful with my furniture and knew how to handle difficult pieces through tight corners and two flights of stairs. All-in-all, my expectations were wildly exceeded and they made our move possible within a very tight timeframe. highly recommended.
