Family movers provided great, professional service. They called me beforehand to let me know when they were close to my apartment and moved all of my furniture inside in less than the amount of time for which I had them scheduled. They were careful with all my items and offered to help me assemble several things. I would definitely recommend them and plan on using them in the future.

David, Alex & Ryan were awesome - would have them back in a New York minute! Very nice, friendly, & STRONG!! We were amazed at how quickly they brought the dressers down from upstairs (w/full drawers no less) & had them out back by the POD, wrapped & taped quilts around everything that needed it. Ryan almost gave me the heart attack as I watched him carry our very heavy dining table down the front steps & out back to the POD. David made sure we had room at the front of the POD to put in the boxes etc that we needed to finish up ourselves.
Would love to have the extra $$ to send them airline tickets & help us do this in reverse in Albuquerque!
Our helpers out there will be challenged to be as nice & as good as David, Alex & Ryan. Thank you all for removing the stress for us on this part of our move.

Mover stole my checkbook and $1400 from my bank account. Before you read any further, do not use Family Movers whatsoever. This is going to sound unbelievable, but one of the moving labor helpers stole my checkbook out of my apartment while "helping" move me out of my apartment. He then cashed 2 $700 checks out of my bank account and attempted to steal another $675. Let me tell you, this has been the biggest pain in the ass I've ever had to deal with. I've filed police reports, spoken to detectives, spoken to attorneys on the case, spoken to my bank's investigative unit on the case when really alll I want is my money back. When you hire a moving company that claims their employees have been background checked, you take their word for it. When I called David Brown to explain the situation he said "well we've been a bit lax on the background checks". Talk about false advertising, real professional. Because David will argue that it's not his fault that he hired a criminal...well then whose fault is it? It's certainly not mine. At this point David has refused to refund me for the services because he believes they were completed accordingly, which is absolutely ludacris. Any legitimate business would refund a customer for such an ordeal but not Family Movers. Long story short, as indicated in my review below, save yourself the headache and pay more for a trustworthy, honest moving company.

If you are really pressed for cash then sure go with family movers. But be cautious with their misleading names. If I was moving with a wife and kids, I would not want these movers doing the job as they were somewhat reckless. They were efficient, I will give them that. But there was an issue with my freight elevator being reserved by someone else even though I reserved it, and one of my workers opened his mouth and a future new tenant and specifically said while pointing at me and I quote: "I work for him!" This new tenant looked at me and said: "Well you better get this man under control!" It was extremely embarrassing. All I was looking for was two professional guys to bring my things downstairs and into a moving and storage container. I tried to avoid drama but I guess you get what you pay for. On top of it, they broke one of the handles of my containers and I was lucky enough to see it before they loaded it into the POD. I was able to get a $20 refund which will pay for a new container along with a $20 refund for their lack of professionalism. Bottomline--Do yourself a favor and pay a little bit more and you won't have to worry on the day of the move.

Family Movers did an excellent job. They asked if they could come earlier and it was no problem. When they were stuck in traffic due to an accident, they called and updated me as to where they were. They worked hard unloading our container and even got the work done in the two hours despite our three story townhome. They were very respectful of my husband and I and our belongings. I would hire them again.
