Safety movers and maid service did a wonderful job helping us move. Anthony was the owner and he communicated well with us as far as timing and scheduling. I had to push back the start time a few times due to having trouble getting our moving van and Anthony was very accommodating. He sent two movers Troy and another guy who were very respectful of our belongings and worked hard. I tried to keep them within the allotted time frame so as to stick to my budget and they made sure to lift the heaviest items first in case we didn’t get everything in time so that we were only left with lift items. They were however able to move everything within the 2 hours. My dad and husband helped but without the 2 movers it would have taken a lot longer. I would definitely use them again! Nothing was damaged and they made sure to be respectful of the carpeting in our home and remove their shoes or only step on the hardwood which I greatly appreciated. They were also on time. Thank you safety movers!!!

The movers were great, did an awesome job of packing out and into my storage building, but I was overcharged for the hours. Also, they suggested I hire them outside of hire a helper for the next move, and pay with PayPal friends and family (Again, I was charged for more hours than what was worked). If you are to use this service, I would suggest having a stopwatch in hand, and only pay with a method that allows for disputes. The quality of the work kept me from complaining about the small overage the first time, but the second time was between 1 and 2 hours extra fees.

I moved out of a one bedroom apartment in the middle of DC. I hired Safety Movers & Maid Service to help put my things into a truck I had rented and would drive to my next apartment. I was originally very wary of hiring them since they did not have many ratings. Let me quell those concerns immediately. They were absolutely incredible. They took one look at my things and said we have this under control, which put me right at ease. They carried my stuff to the truck (which they actually helped me park in the back of my apartment building) and tied up my things with rope. They were professionals throughout, finished well before the allotted time, and were easy to work with. If I ever have to move again I will be calling them.

The 2 movers came a 1/2 hour late. The older gentleman was very good and we could tell he had experience. We did have an issue with moving the treadmill. There are 3 scratches on our hardwood floor. The treadmill had a blanket under it, but something must have been poking through and the gentlemen didn't pick up on that end. This caused deep scratches in the floor. I do have pictures I can provided. My boyfriend ended up helping them to move the treadmill and safe to assist the one gentlemen that was doing most of the work. I did not activate the insurance, but am not sure if our floor repair would be covered. If you could please advise.

The guys who came to do the job were wonderful - so nice, so respectful and very hard working however they actually loaded the truck very poorly and didn't plan out the best way to fit things in before just starting to load items they came across - they didn't think we'd come close to filling the truck initially and then weren't able to fit all furniture in truck (we had already loaded a POD on our own before they arrived with all boxes and extraneous items and they were strictly loading furniture into truck). We ended up needing to pay for an add'l hour of work from them in order for them to move things around and stuff everything in. When we had new company (also from Hire a Helper.com) meet us in Maryland to unload the truck things were falling everywhere - HEAVY items were placed on top of light items - a few items were damaged (did not fill out insurance sheet ahead of move and thankfully it was small priced items that I would not bother submitting claims over regardless). So despite being very hard workers, they need to spend some time really figuring out how things should get loaded ahead of starting to put things in truck - I am sure there is a "system" of packing a truck out there that movers should be trained on and it just seemed like these workers were not familiar with the best ways to do so despite being very hard workers and very polite and kind to us during the process.
